B.G.C. 2019 NFL Draft/Patriot-Type Players Thread

Locks intriguing but too expensive I'd guess.

Thats the thing that most are missing or thinking through.

Do we really need any of these guys rn?

Are they/how much better are we off w them as opposed to Hoyer/Et?

Bc of the class, position you're buying very high. I guess if it's your guy you get him but I'm not buying any of these guys as the next Pats franchise QB.

I've thought Rypien was a PTP for a while now so I definitely wouldn't mind him w a late 3 if we really like him.
Lock we will have to move more than likely in the top 20 range.
Thorson can be had in the mid to late second or third.
Rypien 4th to 5th round.
There is realistically 5 teams maybe looking for a new signal caller.
Let's look at the teams with the top needs.
AFC East
Miami they are more than likely looking for the same type of QB we would target.
AFC South
Jacksonville Many people have Foles pegged here if that happens no QB in the first.
AFC North
Cincinnati new offense of course they will look for a QB.
AFC West
Denver they traded for Flacco and are squandering Keenum have missed on so many QBs of course they will try again.
LA Chargers They are starting to look for Rivers replacement.
They are targeting a QB more than likely second to third round

NFC East
Redskins- They badly need a QB Alex Smiths leg is not good.
QB 1st or second round
Giants- Eli Manning the Patriot Superbowl Slayer but is regressing at a rapid rate.
What do the Giants do?
I believe they take a QB in the first round

NFC West

What the Cardinals do will send ripples thru the whole draft

I left out the divisions that don't need a QB now or in the near future.

Thats 7 maybe 8 teams who need a QB now or next draft.

I'm really curious how BB views this class as well as the possible interest if Rosen is available.
The Development of Danny Etling would be a great story.
But that never happens a late round afterthought QB proves his critics wrong and becomes good or great rjght?
Nah will never happen.

You can't look at it that way. Teams will want starters, backups, ps players. It'll be a lot more than 5 teams interested in getting a starter, backup, ps player.

Honestly no idea where either will go. I dont think Rypien is 2-3 rounds worse than Thorson though.

Don't think we should consider a QB, this team needs an influx of youthful talent before we consider a QB. TB12 had a hard time throwing to guys we currently have. I'd rather have this years draft to get talent and look at QBs for next years draft or gamble on 2021 getting Trevor Lawerence ideally.

Let other teams "fix" this years class. We just won the fuxkin SB. Lets patch some sh it up & build the best team we can.

If we don't love a QB or edge rusher to replace Flowers if he leaves, I'm on board with a OBJ or trading up for Metcalf.
But Josh better do all he can do to make sure this kid can learn the system and not be the next Chad Bethel Brandon kind of miss.

You mean Brandon Tate? He was a 3rd round pick who was a solid KR and played in the league for a good while. He may not have been a top tier WR, but when you consider the bust rate of 3rd round picks, Tate can't be considered a bust the same way that Jackson or Bethel might be. He disappointed compared with his potential, but I think he was drafted more for his return ability than anything else, so he's not a true miss.

Been preaching this for months. Glad you can see where i'm coming from
Yea I've been here more or less since last year. Unless this corp jumped & made strides why do it to yourself.

I love OBJ. Gave him a HOF grade. I'd go a #1 & 4 but thats it. Love DK too but not sure I like him trading up. It's too deep a group imo to fall in love w him & his inconsistencies. After Brady we'll have have to take some shots & live w some things but between our picks, the WR & TE class we should be able to find 2-3 solid pass catchers in Rd 2-4.

Almost like testing matters?

Love this prospect. His BC tape was fire too from this year. Absolute highlight reel.

Old tape btw

Potential Flowers replacement. Big time Allen fan. Got a offer a TE to UCLA. Local guy. Football player through & through.

The one common thing i've seen against him, is his lack of pass rush moves at times. I can see him becoming a patriot though, he's strong against the run. Fits as a 3-4 DE or maybe 3T DT in 4-3 on passing downs

Donald Parham, reminds me of Adam Sheehan - unbelievable size, great hands, huge catch radius, oh and hes 6ft 8..

Not sold on his blocking, but have him as a 7th rounder UDFA type guy.

For UDFA tape i tend to look at Draft Diamonds on Youtube, and then try and find tape on them.
