I like Gay. I've always liked gay. I'll never forget how big he stepped up the year we beat the Eagles. The frickin guy was a free agent rookie Corner starting in the superbowl.... So what he got injured, everyone on this team gets injured.

Seeing him play against Cinci reminded me of how much i liked him and why. I never saw him let up a big play, and he ALWAYS TAKES THE RECEIVER DOWN IMMEDIATELY.

I watched the game again and did not see Gay miss a tackle or let a receiver get more than a yard or 2 after hitting them.

I forget who it was, but someone was dragged like 6 yards by Houshmanzilla

I agree, RG is an excellent player. However ya might wanna rethink the title of this thread to "I like Blue". Unless.....nevermind. (JK)

I like him too .... If could only stay healthy

Yes, an unsung player here. Is there a better #3 CB in the league? Maybe, but not many.

I still can't find his replica jersey anywhere!

I really like Gay, but he really needs to work on his tackling style. He actually threw the ball carrier for the first down one time on Monday night. He tackled that way all night. I know he is a smaller guy and he needs to get the ball carrier down whatever way he can, but that style could be a problem if we really need a third down stop and he makes his intial contact right before the firsty down marker.

I actually don't think so. There may be (actually is) a better 1-2 combo then AS and Hobbs, but when it comes to 1-2-3, I'd doubt it (asuming all are healthy). He would start on MANY teams. That seems to be a theme with us. At many positions, we have back-ups that are second to none. See Gay, see Green...... Hochstein ain't back either.

Needless to say. I am a fan of Blue.

I always thought a that Keegs would be a total Gay fan.

I hope that RG stays healthy all year. The reason he was undrafted is that he couldn't stay healthy in college and then lost his job to Webster. If he can stay healthy, he is a better NFL player than Webster.

Clever un-troll =P

I like Gay also. I have always thought Gay's performance has exceeded expectations. To have an undrafted player START on a SB team their rookie year (yes, Law was injured, but still) is incredible.

I've always been a big Gay supporter on this board.... For the last couple years most people on this board have placed him somewhere below Poteat on the skills scale, but the guy has starting corner talent (if not--yet--experience).

I am definitely a Gay Fan. I'm all about Gay.

Ehh... Hank wrapped up his tackles better, but that's about it, IMHO. Blue's got to stay healthy this year though.

He is very consistent and a good tackler. The most underrated skill in a corner is tackling.
Good tackling corners force the edge (especially in our 2 gap system) and can play a little bit off because they will not get burned on a play in front of them.
Especially in todays NFL with so many prima dona WRs, coming up and smacking them after a catch can have a huge effect, and will create drops later.

I'm loving this thread.

I like Gay.

And I love immature jokes.

Keegs is the man.

I think Gay tackles really well. He wraps up and throws down. If every once in awhile the tackle pushes the guy forward, I'm not gonna kill him on that, that just happens sometimes - leverage, etc... And he's not the only one who does it.

yeah but at least he doesn't get dragged (or at least from what i remember seeing)...

I hate seeing that. it's so frustrating.

not to mention the guy gets paid crap compared to every other corner and is always playing for a contract

Are you talking about Asante, or do you have a 'special friend' named Samuel?

Gay has really mastered the bump and run coverage

This is absolutly the best thread ever. I can't stop laughing.

The reason you can't find his jersey is because for some strange reason they're all being sent to P-town
