So Jim Caldwell’s expected title has gone from OC to QB coach to now nobody having any clue what’s going on. The Dolphins’ coaching staff should be full now, though. They’ve been linked to ST, RB, WR, OL, TE, DL, LB, and secondary coaches that aren’t currently with the Patriots.

Yup. I don't think Belichick begrudges his employee taking a promotion somewhere else because Belichick seems to care about his people. I think it's the way that Mangini went about it that was the problem. Recruiting people on the way home from a loss...

It sucks to lose coaching talent, but the related opurtunity for an established head coach to bring in new coaching blood helps to avoid intellectual stagnation.

Sometimes change is necessary for a team to maintain a long term forward focus.
