...we ****ing won.

We also won the Super Bowl where we trailed the Seahawks by 10 in the 4th quarter.

We also won the Super Bowl where we trailed the Falcons 28-3.

But somehow, 3-3 seemed so ****ing insurmountable, you might as well give up.

Too many Marky Marks in the fanbase.

This team does not need to be perfect. Other teams need every single break but we can blow chances and still win. That’s what having the GOAT coach and GOAT QB give us.

Brady played a terrible game but he never gave up. If some of you Marky Marks played QB, you would have left the stadium after that first throw.

Honestly, 3-3 and giving up...that is beyond being a homer or a troll.

Bravo. The GDT was more insufferable than usual. Some must be bandwagoners or young teens who don't understand sports. Some trolls. (bagging on gronk as well...like WTF are you watching?)

I was only slightly nervous last night mainly because our defense was lights out/Goff was awful. You could tell as the 4th quarter dawned that a TD drive would seal it for us.

Brady wasn't awful, he just wasn't in sync with the offense, which some credit must go to the Rams for. He did move us a lot, we just bogged down near the 30s. But when it mattered most he moved us. Haters be damned.

Huh. I was pretty calm throughout, as were the 20 or so people watching with me. Maybe the Chiefs game already consumed our full stress capacity. :)

I'm sure there were a few people venting anxieties in the GDT thread, that's eternal. But in general, I think the doom and gloom crowd were pretty thin on the ground this time.

Maybe it was because I was watching in mixed company, the only Pats fan surrounded by what seemed to be mostly Steeler fans, but I felt, even at 3-3 that we were in the driver's seat. The game felt like a 20-3 game. Maybe it's because all the other fans knew they were ****ed with a close game in the fourth quarter.

Wish some Pats fans had the same faith...

The bottom 20% of posts in the GDT make the whole idea of going there during a game insufferable. Those people don't represent the Patriots fan base. I understand that some people are pessimistic by nature and identify with the "woe is me" mentality, but geeze people... get a grip.

I went to the GDT at halftime when the "show" was making my ears hurt. It wasn't too bad them, as everyone was joking about the awful halftime. When the game is actually being played, I used to keep up with the GDT between plays, timeouts, or review breaks, but now I'd rather much devote all of my attention to the game even if it's just anticipation of what to do next.

The offense was not doing anything right and everything felt like it was going Rams way in terms of how many lucky breaks they were getting (Brady int, Hightower not getting int, missed FG, punts that kept rolling forever, failure to convert third downs that we always did...)

That said, once Jason stopped that TD, I was sure we were going to win. By that point, I was confident the Rams were not going to start putting up points all of a sudden and I knew sooner or later Brady was going to put together a TD drive.

People thought it was over (as in we are going to lose) when we were up 3-0 at halftime. I was so confused.

I was only pessimistic after the first throw INT and then the missed FG early. I just had that feeling like the Giants SBs with weird starts and the safety in the endzone. Then it turned out that LA couldn't get out of their own way on offense and the rest was history.

I agree 100%. For some reason, I felt the Pats were in complete control of the game. This sounds crazy but it felt like one of those games from 2003. Thinking about the Browns game at Gillette that ended up 9-3. The score looks close but they were never really in it.

Exactly how I felt.

Still all nervous as hell but in a good way.

The defenses were absolutely awesome until 10 minutes left in the game. Josh took charge and put the following offense on the field.
Edelman as a slot receiver
Burkhead and Gronkowksi on one side
Develin and Allen on the other side
Brady and the OL in charge

Josh ignored the game plan, relied on his abilities and that of the players, and the rest is history.

An oral history of Pats' game-winning drive

If you think the game day thread was negative, wait until the draft day thread.:D

Is it possible to think a game is over when it's tied with lots of time left to play?

The game felt a lot like that 16-3 (or whatever it was) @Denver in 2016. Similar low scoring game that gives the false sense that the game is close.

Well you are talking about people who wanted to get rid of players and tank the season after W3 because we clearly didn't have it this year. So being all panicky over 3-3 seems par for the course.

There's a lot of people who deserve a callout. I'm not talking about one or two meltdowns here or there, I'm talking 90% of the game bemoaning how awful we were, that we traded JimmyG, etc.

Like the OP says I don't know how you can see us be 3-28 and COME BACK yet be in a hurry to put a fork in us when we're leading 3-0.
