With our luck Bill will load up more on D, beef up the receiving corps, run even more effectively, go 12-4 and win the SB with a caretaker QBNah. I’d want them to start Etling and try to tank for #1 overall and a shot at Lawrence.

Uhoh here we go again I couldn't disagree with this strategy more.Nah. I’d want them to start Etling and try to tank for #1 overall and a shot at Lawrence.
Lawrence is going to be the next great QB in the league unless he suffers some kind of horrific injury in college. If Brady retires, and he won’t, I’d much rather tank one season and/or collect the ammo to trade up than go 10-6/9-7 and lose in either the WC or the Divisional, which is the best case scenario without Brady. Here’s an exercise, and just apply it to this year - how many of the 2018 AFC playoff field are we beating without Brady? Be intellectually honest with yourself.Uhoh here we go again I couldn't disagree with this strategy more.
BB is too good a coach to tank. Give him Cassell and he could be 11-5. Hopefully we could find someone better than Cassell right away and have a shot at a Superbowl.
But forgetting the stop gap and trying to get a franchise QB is still not something I would want to wait a year for. Draft one now or trade for someone young (or not young like a Foles) don't just intentionally tank a season.
You know better than to start a weak thread like this.
We’d have to (hypothetically) tank in 2020, not 2019. Lawrence just finished his first year. He can’t leave for two more. He’s screwing up all of our posting plans.Nah. I’d want them to start Etling and try to tank for #1 overall and a shot at Lawrence.
That is not in BB's DNA and has long as he is coach, he would never ever tank. They are not getting Lawrnece period. If Brady would retire I would like to see; Kyler Murray, Teddy Bridgewater or even Danny Etling get a shot. Part of what is so great about being a Patriots fan is watching them coach up undervalued playersNope. Go 2 year tank to reload and get Lawrence.

You know me hard for me to see us winning without TB but tell me if we could get Foles or even just trade for a highly rated back up like Jimmy was and let's see how BB can coach them up. Or just take someone in the draft now rather than waiting a year.Lawrence is going to be the next great QB in the league unless he suffers some kind of horrific injury in college.
