That hit looks worse that it is because most of it is Edelman seeing it coming and falling backward. If he didn't... well, he might even be out for the Super Bowl. That was definitely an attempted cheap shot.

It must have looked worse than it was because as you say.. if he would have taken that at 100% no way he gets up. And when I saw it live that is what I was thinking.. turnover + Jules out. I was absolutely baffled when he just got up 1-2 breaths later.

Entitled punk. I hope somebody tears him to pieces during one of his scrambles/cross-body throws. Let's see how he enjoys his protected-class status then.

I just hope the refs not be fan boys and just let them play. That means not calling bs OPI on the Pats while allowing the Chiefs to pick all over the place

You had your wish for 3/4 of the game.

I decided to spend the next week and a half reading the GDT and this one caught my eye. Good call.

I decided that I couldn't read every post in the GDT so I read the first ten pages, the last ten pages and every other page in between.

I was shocked by the negativity and realized why I never read the GDT's.

I keep watching the game again. Now, on tv. Peoples three gripes are 1. They think the interception should count even though one defender was a good 20” over LOS. My answer to that is Tom knew it was a free play.
2. The roughing call against the chiefs.
My answer: earlier when you guys mailed gronk and we’re guilty of flagrant PI against Dorsett you said to let them play then cried when no flag came when mahomos head got touched. Hmm
3. They say the best team lost over a coin flip.
Honestly, I have no answer to that one. Had they won the toss. I’m fairly sure they would have won but that’s the rules so deal with it

As for the best team comment. I laugh and ask if they are joking. We’re here almost every year

I've watched the overtime GW drive at least 10 times.

For #2, on that *same exact play* there was blatant DPI against Edelman. Honestly when they first cut to the referee I had assumed he was calling DPI. Would have been approximately the same benefit (maybe a few yards less for the Patriots).

I hate the "let them play" attitude people ask regarding the refs. It's stupid; why have rules then? I think what most of us are saying when we say such a thing is - don't call ticky-tack BS, but call clear penalties, don't ignore them. Seems the refs just swallowed the whistle entirely and threw away the rulebook when it came to the Chiefs' DBs, their clear pick play, and the clear push-off on Kelce's TD, but decided to call ticky-tack stuff against JC Jackson plus the one ticky-tack RTP on Brady. That's not good referreeing at all, and now you see both sides (Chiefs and Patriots fans) complaining.

Your join date says you've been here 6 1/2 years. I have to assume at this point that by shocked you mean:

I started to read my first GDT in 2012 but found it too tedious. I only returned two games ago (for the Chargers game) and only to root the team on. It worked so I did it again vs KC and I'll do it again for the SB.

I absolutely love watching big road wins. I love hearing the groaning from the home fans when the Pats crush their dreams.

It’s funny now to think about how much of a meltdown there was after the Miami Miracle. In retrospect, it ended up working out just fine because now we got to watch the Pats win on the road.

I can't find the source it might have been Brady's weekly radio appearance but I read that Brady said he wasn't aware of the flag. And if you look at some of the footage of his reaction to the pick I think it is obvious he didn't initially know.

If you can't stop three 3rd & 9+ then you got what you deserved.

I still think this game was very similar to the Pats - Bears game. The Pats could have won this game in a blow out but in some ways, their mistakes let the Chiefs stay in it.
Yea they played great but they definitely made way too many mistakes with the turnovers, almost muffed punt, forced fumble called back due to a penalty, missed getting interceptions (at least 2).

They've got to clean up their act for the SB.
