LOL, I guess homers are the same with every team.

The 8th drive saw Mack run for gains of 20 and 11 and Hines run for gains of 14 and 1. So yes, they were having success. They just abandoned it and died with a QB who stunk out loud and wasn't hitting the broad side of a barn.
I understand what you are saying. But this 8th drive occurred when they were down three scores with 12 minutes left in the game. There is no question that we want them to run the ball at that point. I'm not sure how else to say it. For them to win the game at that point, they have to beat you through the air. And contrary to your point, with 12 minutes left to go and down 3 scores, they were still running the ball. So they didn't abandon the run anyway.

Indianapolis is a throwing team. I'm sure they have the ability to run the ball, but when you have the number 6 passing attack, the 20th rushing attack, and are winners of 9 out of your past 10 games, you don't just abandon what got you here. They did what they thought they needed to do to win the game. I expect when the Patriots come to town, our focus will be to keep Tom Brady from beating us. And I suspect your focus will be to keep Mahomes from beating you. And if that means Damien Williams has a good day, I imagine you will be willing to concede that, and adjust on the fly if necessary to win the game.

Now if the Colts were winning, or seriously threatening at some point, then that changes things. But that never happened. And we curb stomped them. Same as you did the Chargers. We both dominated good teams. And there is no shame in anything either of these two teams have done or accomplished this year.

The only 'good' team you dominated was the Chargers week 1. If you want to count the #6 seed as 'good', then fine.

Cris Carter just said Patriots O is predictable, has Chiefs 34-31. I suspect McD will make sure they won't be as much this weekend.

Are you serious with that ?

So you would not attack the gigantic weakness of your upcoming opponent just because how the passing game worked against other completely irrelevant teams in the past ? I guess I am just too spoiled watching the GOAT coach and an OC that actually really gameplans beyond the first two series'. Mama mia.

Worked out well every time for the Colts when we totally destroyed them on the ground. Please throw your bodies into preventing Brady from picking up meaningless stats while our OL and running game goes onto one long drive after the other and then throws in the dagger with the inevitable playaction pass.

But yeah no worries.. you will "adjust on the fly" to it. Please.

I can't remember how you guys have done at Arrowhead. It's probably out there on the internet somewhere. Maybe try the google machine.

You may beat us. But I think you should get over the notion that you are some kind of invincible machine and that our defense is just going to roll over for you. I pray to god every morning that your game plan is to have Sony Michel beat us.

It’s a Patriots website and these guys have been in this game 8 straight times. NE has the best quarterback ever with by far the most postseason success. New England has “been there, done that.” They’ve destroyed many intimidating teams in the past (2004 Colts and Steelers, 2014 Seahawks).

I pray to God that our game plan is to have Sony Michel and TB beat you, whatever your D gives up we exploit.

There were three drives when the game was still in doubt when the Colts didn't even attempt to run the ball. That's abandoning the run. KC's primary weakness on defense has been against the run and Mack had run for 1,022 yards since Week 6 coming in to that game. That brings me back to my original point - the Colts lost the game due more to what they were (and weren't doing) than what KC's defense did. That doesn't mean that I'm going to take away every bit of credit from the Chiefs. They were doing a fine job at generating pressure via the use of stunts and twists primarily through the A and B-gaps, but the Colts played right into their hands on offense. It was evident early that Luck was going to struggle. What do they do? Abandon the run outright for three important drives to play right into KC's hands where a smart team would have slowed things down a bit and began to pound them on the ground.

They are the 6 seed because the #5 seed had a 12-4 record. And also because they play in a division that has actual NFL teams that they have to play. They won 9 out of 10 to finish the season. Beat the Texans twice, Cowboys, Titans twice. Andrew Luck put up for almost 400 yards and 3 TDs against you. If you think they are not good, because of seeding then I'm not sure what to tell you.

Who cares ? None of it matters because the only thing that is still the same from what happened in the past is the laundry. Maybe you should google "Chiefs postseason success". That seems as irrelevant to me.

I pray to god every morning that your game plan is to have Sony Michel beat us.

If you even dream about the best coaching staff in the business going into the game with a single plan then you are in for a rude awakening. You are not playing trash like the Colts, Ravens, Broncos, Raiders or the Chargers.

Again, I understand. I'm sure in retrospect they might go back and change things. But I'm sure they felt, like many of you here, that our pass defense is weak and they were more comfortable giving the ball to Andrew Luck against the 31st ranked pass defense.

Yeah they're so good and you beat them. That makes you super good! Chargers beat you so they're even more super good.....and we beat the chargers so we are the most super good.

forecast now is high of 33 degrees, low 23. What a difference from just a few days ago with game time temps in low teens. A total non factor at this point.

It would be a total non factor if it was in the 40s. Just because the initial forecasts showed the potential for people to actually freeze to death doesn't make low-to-mid 20s a "non factor". That talk really skewed the conversation now.

It will still be very cold and the game will be affected by it.

We had some opportunities in Denver in the 2015 game. Brady threw the pick to Von Miller. We can’t beat ourserlves or do anything stupid if we want to win:

Yah we not thrown that pick, made an extra point, among a few other things, we likely win in 2015.

We just need to play clean on Sunday and we got a chance.

It will be mid to high 20's during the game with little wind...it really is not a factor IMO

It won't be easy, but I believe we can do it. Also, got to hope they make some mistakes and we take advantage of it.

Yes or no: Indy's trouble on offense was due more to what your defense did than Indy's offense shooting themselves in the foot?

I realized I didn't answer this. Sorry. I'll try, but it won't be a yes or no.

Indianapolis had trouble on offense for the same reasons almost everyone that comes to Arrowhead does. Including Tom Brady historically, who last time here completed 45 percent of his passes with no touchdowns and a 38.6 QBR. And a 20.5 QBR rating in 2014 with 2 picks. He threw 4 picks here in 2004.

1. It's a really hostile environment. The loudest stadium in the NFL when we want to be. That's not my opinion, that's factual and measured. Seattle is loud also, but we are loud enough to cause problems. Linemen don't get off the ball as well. We cause false start penalties. But most of all, it makes it difficult to get presnap reads and audible. It's constant and I don't think you can really appreciate it unless you've heard it. I know Tom Brady and Andrew Luck are veterans and they deal with it, but it is a factor in why QB's perform differently in Arrowhead. They are never comfortable. And neither is anyone else on offense. Wide receivers jump. Lineman get off the ball slowly and end up holding. It's all related.

2. We don't have a great defense, but we do get after the quarterback. 52 sacks on the year is almost twice what the Patriots have done. And we don't just have edge rushers. We collapse pockets. Chris Jones has 15.5 sacks as a DE and Allen Bailey is a big big man that also collapses pockets. But from both edges we bring serious heat also. Dee Ford has 13 sacks with 7 forced fumbles and Justin Houston is one of the best edge rushers in the game when healthy. And he's healthy. Pressure comes from anywhere and that combined with the noise creates uncomfortable pockets, even when it looks clean to you and me on youtube the next day. You can't feel the pressure like you can at say Miami. That's why so many of our sacks, including against Luck are strip sacks.

3. Lots of teams that come here are not prepared for the elements as well. The Colts are a dome team and January in places like Foxboro and Arrowhead are not kind to dome teams generally. It snowed like a mother trucker that day. The elements gave them problems. I don't expect it to bother the Patriots, but it probably did the Colts a little.

So the answer is yes and no. I think our defense and Arrowhead created and will continue to create problems that you don't understand or choose to ignore. That's exacerbated by our offense scoring so fast and causing urgency for opposing offenses. And I think Andrew Luck didn't play his best. But there is a long long history of quarterbacks not playing their best here including the G.O.A.T. who since 2005 is 0-3 here with 2 touchdowns, 6 picks and 8 sacks. It's not like it was a one game fluke. And I think it's a little too simple to just say Andrew Luck sucked.

I saw you at Chiefs Planet. Not going to lie, I am genuinely enjoying the website. They have been pretty respectful and just seem excited. However, the Brady injury thread I wasnt a fan of because I don't really like wishing injury on players.

I have been over there myself (same user name which I use on all sites) and have enjoyed my time over there. When i first arrived back in Oct. a few guys gave me some guff and a few recently too.

But essentially they are naturally extremely excited about the teams success this year as well as the teams future. Likely, no too different than i felt back in the early 2000s.

Because of their excitement one can understand they may get over the top. Alas, there have been a few Pats fans kind of trolling on the site, which can kind of be a bummer if one wants to just chat among their fans about AFCCG week.
