Tyreek Hill

Tyreek Hill will be effective only when Chiefs offense and ST is on the field.

I think BB should pull the old Troy Brown solution out of his magic hat; try out Matt Slater as a DB on Hill. He is always the fastest guy on ST. And he has never really worked out in that official WR slot/grouping he is holding. ;)

This suggestion was really only half in jest. I honestly wonder if BB coached him up a couple weeks in training if he could actually play dB. But probably not cause he never figured out wr. But on a short week, this obviously ain't happening.

From an X's and O's perspective (not including clock management), Bill still reigns over Andy Reid, but let's not pretend that Reid isn't in the upper echelon of coaches.

I don't disagree that BB is a better coach, but they've split games since Reid became the coach of the Chiefs.

Maybe Slater can finally catch that bomb.

Obviously it's a team game, but KC has a huge advantage with their athleticism at their key skill positions.

Let's put it this way......

Patrick Mahomes is having an MVP season and has outplayed Brady this year.

Travis Kelce is far more effective than Gronk is this year.

I love Edelman, but there is no denying that Hill is far more athletic (and probably drops the ball less, too).

So in the past when thinking about the Pats' prospects of winning, I have always felt good because of Brady/Belichick/Gronk/Edelman

But here it is we have to face KC in their place, and they have a formidable foursome of....

Mahomes/Reid/Kelce/Hill

It boils down to experience vs athleticism. I really hope the stage becomes too big for Mahomes, counting on him to make a mistake or two will be critical for any chance of victory.

It boils down to the Pat's offense vs their defense and the Pat's defense vs their offense. I like our chances.

It's going to be a good game.

I doubt it's going to be another over 80 plus combined points.

Pat's 31

Chiefs 28.

Or something like that.

I want them to bully him, press him hard and Jam him. If he ends up in the slot get HT or Someone to basically hit him as soon as the ball is snapped. Make his life hell.

He's hard to do that to. If you watch our games, he is in jet sweep motion a lot. And when he isn't and you try to jam him, you better get it done or he is gone for 90 yards. You really have to have someone special to play him tight at the line of scrimmage.

That also includes some safety and CB blitzes to hit Mahomes.
We did more of that in the 2000's but got away from it a bit.
This game will be perfect for it - Mahomes scrambles to well to simply cover them.
I'm far from an X & Os guy, but sending DBs often - whether on a blitz or not - would be an interesting strategy I'd like to see them try. DBs are more equipped with the speed to chase down Mahomes, as opposed to an LB or DL.

I think he is going to be more worrisome in the kicking game if its cold and we cant hit touchbacks on kickoffs.

Yep. If the refs call it they call it, but I want the Patriots to beat the Chef’s up physically in every area of the game. The best way to win this week is to impose their will upon the Chef’s.

I agree with you. I think they are going to do it as much as they can and if they get called, they get called. They are going to have to really confuse Mahomes and punish Hill.

I think it's important that we cover him. Just my honest observation.
i disagree. they know that we want to shut him down as we tend to shut down the opposing teams strength and let them try to beat us elsewhere. (dont believe me read all about it in media by visionaires such as trolin volin). so since they know this they will prepare differently, so we counteract it by leaving hill open and NOT covering him. this will really take our genius to next level.

It’s important that we cover Hill with his own thread. We should probably devote on more thread over the top of this one, too.

Or, we could limit discussion to one thread, on to KC.

Guess this was a response to a different post.
