B.G.C. 2019 NFL Draft/Patriot-Type Players Thread

I can see it now. Heir Jordan. Count me in on Jordan Love. This guy really is smooth. He's a big time sleeper for the 2020 draft.

You're right on Montez. I don't thing he has the aptitude to grasp this offense let alone any NFL offensive playbook.
I had a reply to ur post in QB thread I believe but never posted for some reason.

I really like Love's mechanics when he's peak. Similar to Brady in that his back stays on the ground. Following through w hips & front foot. Over the top thrower.

He gets a lil loose sometimes. Upper & lower aren't quite working 100% together but I loved what I saw. Active lower half/feet.

Another thing I really liked was his trust in his arm. He has plenty of zip it seems & he routinely blasts passes in tight windows on quick slants, outs etc.

Back to trusting his arm though. Seen for than a few times where he let his WR make a play on a 50/50. Accurate balls where only his could really make a play. No hesitation just let's it fly. I love that.

Looks like vg size at 6'3-6-4/215-220. Hands look like they're bigger than avg. He's gonna be a fun watch next year.

Btw that team has a few players to keep an eye on

Tarver SR WR
Woodward SO LB

Yeah was just wondering what your opinion was on him as He just never “wowed me” when watching tape whereas some of the other guys I’ve looked at have. I do agree he would fit here perfectly more because of his ability against the run. Agree a D-line of frank and Trey would give us flexibility but I’d be surprised if the seahawks let him go.
I doubt it esp since that team looks really good rn & has a nice core group again.

I liked Griffin CB a few years ago, 2nd Rd grade I believe & he's been vg since almost day 1. Clark is a beast & would be great opposite Flowers (that is if Bill actually allows us to rush more than 1 guy at a time) Both power rushes, w serious jolts in their punches & rushes. Flowers, Clark, Wise & Allen gets me excited but again for various reasons I guess it won't happen.

We could end up with Flowers, Wise, Allen which wouldn’t be the worst D-line we’ve ever had.

There any other NT in this years draft? Always felt when we have a good one we are pretty dominate

D Brown, Leki Fotu, Sagapolu

Honestly, nowadays I want penetration & someone who can win 1 on 1. 2 gapping is great & not out of date at all but our DT's do way too much reading & waiting for my liking. Esp when you consider how popular zone has become. You need guys that can penetrate & cause hesitation. Guys that can cut off that angle. Cause the RB to take a longer path or even back up & that's not coming from the classic NT.

Whose your favourites within the DT class this year then? As I know it’s crazy deep

Thoughts on Anthony Rush? Could be a big time sleeper.

Gavino actually mentioned him months back before a pod & put the name in my ear.

Play a lil too high but I love his motor when's he's fired up. Poor man's Chris Jones vibes at his best. Violent strong hands. Like Gavino said he can move a lil but I think he'll be on a snap count early on. Get a year or two of training. Lots to like.

They're next up so I can give you a better idea in a week or so but ...
Tillery, Willis, Broughton, Wren, Kinlaw, R Lawrence, Brown, Costin, Fotu

I would like to hear your take on Neville Gallimore. I read somewhere that he can take on double teams and very good against the run/interior pass rush. I have more faith in our resident Patriots draft experts than some other web site.

He flashed for me a bit, but I don't think he's a finished product by any means. Could probably be had late rounds. Lots to like with that frame and strength. Could be a cheap way to replace Shelton (neither are standouts, but we might as well pay peanuts for the mediocre players). I haven't done as thorough a review as I'd like to, but I know you've always good a finger on the pulse of things.

Love his attitude & most times motor. Never really put together anything you can really hang ur hat on production wise. I'll say this he moves like he's around 300 instead of 320+. Slippery guy that can cause some chaos. Really like his agility for a big boy. Good lateral movements. Watch OK his effort was noticable. Canadian I believe? Big hopes but again didn't put it together there. From what I saw he'll test well.

If Ed Oliver somehow falls in the draft do you think we should trade up? I personally prefer him over Bosa..

Thinking about this everyday. I really want to see what he measures. He'll kill testing but is he 275 or a whisker under 300?

If he's close to 300. Test well & falls outside of 10-11 it would be tough not to consider it.

Lately elite guys have been in that range (10-15)
