I swear 25% of this fan base wants a shiny new QB just because they are board. No thanks.

On any given play you might get hurt. Its football.
Would Brady sit out? No he would not and you know damn well that he even hates to come out of a meaningless late season game or a game where NE is up by 21. Its about winning. Some the best players in the NFL are on some crappy college team in the boondocks, but they give all whistle to whistle. If you ever watched old Charger games Jr Seau and Rodney Harrison were the team despite losing year after year. Moss and Troy Brown went to Marshall.
Good luck to the NFL team that drafts this Primadonna. Let him enjoy his look at me 10 minutes of fame.

Brady would need the game to have something on tape.
He was a 6th round pick.
And at least he'll get 10 minutes of fame, because he's not going to blow out his knee in a completely meaningless exhibition game.

I'm surprised at those defending a college QUARTERBACK abandoning his team in a bowl game -- whatever bowl game -- to protect his NFL draft status. If anything, it represents a red flag to NFL teams regarding his dedication to TEAM and competitiveness. "Business decision" my ass. Makes me wonder what other potentially selfish "business decisions" will hold sway once he becomes a pro (if he truly is lucky enough to make a roster).
Regardless of that, football at any level remains an inherently TEAM sport and we're talking about a quarterback here. What he's doing contradicts the very nature of what he purports to be -- a TEAM leader. It's an outrageously selfish decision and tells a lot about his character.Only stupid NFL players treat it as anything other than a business. They're at-will employees and their employers have no loyalty to them. I know the idea that these are people who have an existence beyond the three hours they're on our television screens is foreign to some of you, whose careers usually last no more than a few short years, but come on.

It's a post-season game that might seem irrelevant to us but certainly means something to that team. I wonder if that offense has other NFL hopefuls hoping to get noticed but now feel betrayed by their "leader" blinded by fantasy $$$.It's also often a blessing in disguise for the team in the long run as well. It gives the program the opportunity to evaluate the presumed starter at quarterback for next season in a meaningless game against a comparable opponent, as opposed to in the spring game or in early season games against FCS cupcakes.

Because the game is meaningless to you doesn't mean it is to those involved. Show me links quoting West Virginia players saying this bowl game means nothing to them and I'll agree with you. This game itself won't be the end-all in how those players are evaluated but it's a showcase event nonetheless and part of the season's continuum. I'm not "angry" about the kid's decision, I just see it as antithetical to the sport and his role in it.It's an exhibition game. Only four teams play meaningful postseason games. It's much closer to the Hall of Fame Game than a playoff game. You are literally substantially more angry about this than any player on the West Virginia Mountaineers. And if you think NFL scouts make their evaluations based on bowl games against Syracuse, well.
Tom Brady has sat out many meaningless games in his career. Hell, there have been entire preseasons he didn't even see the field. Bowl games are effectively preseason games; they're entirely meaningless, even for individual awards. He also, you know, wouldn't get paid if he refused to play a regular season game. I don't know if you know this, but college players don't get paid.
