Pittsburgh RB James Conner injury

You have Connor on your FFT? Does that mean you'll be rooting for him in the Pats-Steelers game if he plays?
You clearly don't play fantasy. It means you root for a 51-14 game where Connor gets 200 yards and two TDs in garbage time to account for the 14 points.

I've played many games where my opponent benefits if the Patriots do well, and I've never had a problem with it. Means I can't lose either way.

Yes, I don't play fantasy. That's why I'm asking questions.

How does an opponent benefit when the Pats do well? That doesn't make sense.

It seems to me that rooting for an opposing player to do well goes against being a fan of a team. I wouldn't want to be put in that situation, especially in a close game.

This discussion reminds me of the time in 2001 when I ran a $5 per square SB pool at work. I asked one of my co-workers which he would root for if the Pats needed a score to win the game but it would take away his winning square. His response was that the Pats could win another SB. To me it was worth losing the $125 to see the Pats win.

It’s pretty easy to root against your fantasy player when he goes up against the Pats.

Does the amount of the winnings matter?

Not to me. We play pretty low stakes though ($50 buy-in).

It’s part of my moral code. Never root against the Patriots under any circumstances. Just have to compartmentalize when it might cost you money.

There have also been times where I was certain they wouldn’t cover a point spread (and was correct) but I didn’t bet against them because I didn’t want to have that voice in the back of my head rooting for me to make money at their expense.

Against the 2016 defense, maybe. Against the 2017 version, he had a field day. This run defense has been more like 2017's than 2016's. Luckily for us, he won't be there either.

Can't argue much against that. But hoping we have turned a corner....time will tell. If the 06 Colts can suddenly become a stud defense out of nowhere, well there is hope for all of us.

And I get we are not getting a healthy HOF caliber safety to show back up of the injured list...but a man can believe god damn it!!

Nope, but I start him if I don't have any better options snd turn a blind eye. He is only on 1 of 5 FFL teams I own. I try to avoid it..but not always possible.

I do however have the Pats D in 5 of 5 leagues and made the playoffs in all. Woot!

I'm surprised this game hasn't been flexed yet, given the seeding implications.

At 4:30, it will be shown nationally I would think. Not sure how this stuff works.

Big Ben will probably do something stupid as usual and the Pats will win....

I had this weird feeling that shortly after the LeVeon Bell stuff was settled, and they knew he wasn't coming back, Conner would get hurt. It just felt too appropriate for the whole situation.

He'll do something stupid, then immediately start limping to let us all know how tough he is for even being out there.
