Entered the season as Pats lead back so hopefully this is a big, happy, healthy addition.
If he and Sony can stay healthy this should be one hell of a RB late season party..
Not to forget he was a core ST player at the start of the season so a nice addition to the struggling unit.
With Shelton out lets see how A.Butler does on possibly further expanded role (unless Flowers takes even more snaps in the middle..)
__
After playing core ST and some late game D snaps . and being active over both Shelton and Crossen . Obi #22 is one to watch as well as he found his way to Pats active roster pretty fast..
__
With all late season ST additions active (Obi, McClellan, Humber) over depth & some young D players . lets see if ST units can finally meet BBs complementary football standard..
Shelton being a healthy scratch isn't a huge surprise. I'm thinking that the Pats may have some interesting pressure packages for Cousins. Not exactly Shelton's forte.
With no injuries, our 3 emergency backup DL's are inactive, along with the emergency backup at OL, and 2 emergency defensive backs. I'm fine with that.
Rookie who showed little in camp and has been hurt all year. Doubt he contributed anything this year unless a rash of injuries occurs. Not sure why people think he will contribute given the near 20 year history of Belichick teams and rookies coming off long absences
Call the kid up? They had to activate him or lose him for the year. Given the number of guys they could easily cut for a roster spot (Humber, K.Davis, Crossen, Rivers etc) there’s no reason to lose Dawson for the year.
Us fans have been (beyond) spoiled. This week is the proof. Brees, an 8-8 master lost during his MVP season. Andrew Luck, MVP talk last week : loses 6-0. Cardinals over GB. Chicago down.
Our 8-3 team beat division leaders KC and Houston... we may indeed fall short in January, but we needn’t panic... the league is so unpredictable and BB/TB have been quite the opposite for almost two decades.
