Certain teams have less-than-enthusiastic fan bases, especially when having bad seasons. California and Florida teams come to mind. It’s always been that way.

Interesting. Not all is well in R. Stokoe Goodell's kingdom. The Bengals and Chargers are having trouble filling seats as well. Can the putrid Jete be far behind?

The Jets? They have a die hard fan base that dislike the Giants. They are all Patriots haters. All games are sold out. There is a waiting list to get season tickets. With the masses of people in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey filling seats won't be a problem regardless of how they play.

Also better weather = more to do outside down here and over in California than go sit in the hot sun and watch a football team get its ass kicked.

Another thing that I've noticed from living down here is that people seem to be a lot more passionate about college sports, and football in general, than pro sports. Considering the majority of the cream of the crop talent that supplies the NFL comes from down here, I guess it's not surprising.

That claim warrants confirmation. I bought tickets directly from he Jete a few years ago for a Pats game down there and keep getting multiple e-mails every season about single-game ticket offers. They have 24 different pricing tiers for seats and also offer four-game packages. The stadium always looks about half to two-thirds full on televised games.

Right, but I've never heard of an NFL team actually giving away tickets.

NY Giants and Jets
A football history of 93 and 59 years respectively
A metropolitan market of 20 million people
The corporate hub of America ravenous for season tickets for all the major teams in that market

Comparing infant markets in snow bird cities to the Big Apple is silly.
Half the populations come from northern addresses and they root for northern teams. The other half either attended Florida or Florida State and their football allegiance to their alma mater is a part of their DNA.

It is what it is.
Then there are the 100+ degree stadiums in the baking sun at 1PM kickoff.

Jete season tickets for 2019 currently are on sale (no waiting list). Link: Official Site of the New York Jets

It's about time the league did something for the children. Aside from recruiting them to join the military and fight wars overseas.

The half full depends on how the game is going and what time it is 2nd vs 4th qtr. Are the fans getting food or drinks Season ticket holder always put their tickets up for sale for various reasons.

If you checked crowd shots at the start of last week's game vs. the Pats, there were many, many empty seats.

Season ticket holder always put their tickets up for sale for various reasons.
I believe you're wrong about this as being the sole source of Jete season tickets; as noted, there is no waiting list for them. I provided a link to the team's official website where a person can contact a ticket rep about buying season tix for 2019. This is separate from another site where you can peruse PSLs up for sale by individual owners. Only the lower bowl (100s and I believe some of the 200s sections) is PSLs, the entire upper part of the stadium (300s) is season tix and single-game ticket sales. The team also offers half-season ticket packages, which suggests they have a hard time selling tickets. Also as noted, years after buying single-game tickets from them I still get e-mails from the team soliciting more purchases. Jete tix are not in high demand.

I don't think this is worth the back and forth posting we are doing. If you must win, then you win. Enjoy.

I'm not trying to "win," I'm just providing evidence that the Jete are having trouble selling tickets.

Hey, the NFL makes good tax money on that gig.

Lived down there for 9 years. Florida pro sports fan bases are the worst there are. They love to claim attendance sucks because there are so many transplants rooting for other teams but that’s ridiculous that there aren’t 60,000 people in the Tampa Bay Area that root for the Bucs? Please. When the Rays were good they had to give away playoff tickets so as not to be ridiculed on TV for having a half empty stadium. The Bucs even in Jameis’ first year or so (lots of FSU fans in that area) had fairly crappy attendance. They’re just crappy fans. I remember when I first moved down there I was amazed you could just mosey over to Dale Mabry Hwy and buy a ticket for $20 a half hour before the game. Most of them don’t even watch the game. They hang out by that stupid pirate ship and get hammered. Needless to say I’m glad to be back in New England.

Heh, the Jags had to tarp off most of the upper bowl in their stadium when they sucked. Now that they suck again, tickets are going for as cheap as $15 for this weekend’s game last I checked. I also hear the Dolphins are running a promotion to get their fans into the seats. Ross is having J-Lo hang her bare ass out the window of her club area for 30 seconds at the start of every quarter.
