Good list, but my one ‘eh’ is Jason McCourty. I’m not sure we’d miss a beat without him.

The biggest problem is that one of these should be a defensive tackle, but none of them is a defensive tackle. I still think a healthy Wynn would already be in the top 5, but such is life.

Trent Brown would probably be 11th, but I'm skeptical because Solder would have placed on this list last year for most and he was average at best and has been exposed as a mediocrity absent Brady's pocket presence and release. Other honorable mentions are Harmon and Hightower. Michel is someone I hope would be there, else why spend a 1st round pick on a back, but he hasn't shown enough (especially in the passing game) to justify it.

Really? He’s been playing rather well this year, considering.

I think he has been playing well now that we are 10 games into the season... experience in this system is helpful.

We let go the glue that held this team together. Jordan Richards.

Nobody is indispensable.

I know that you're joking but I'd seriously put Danny Amendola in that category. If you go back and look at the success this team has had Amendola was one of the few constants.

The lesson I have learned over the years at BB Academy is that they are all dispensable.
While this is true, Gronk is the only player that wouldn’t be replaceable as he is arguably the most dominant TE of all time.

There’s only about two TE’s in the NFL right now I’d consider elite playmakers: Kelce and Kittle. Throw Ertz in there as well but he’s not really a game breaker like the other two. The rest are average.

The odds replacing Gronk aren’t very good.

Trent Brown was a very good Tackle in SF with very average QB play.

If he was "very good" they wouldn't have sent him packing for effectively a 4th rounder. He flashed, he had moments, but he wasn't "very good." Very good linemen exist outside of their context - think of Mangold in New York or Mack and Thomas in Cleveland, who were obviously good players despite crappy quarterbacks.

And I'd argue that's been the case in New England as well. He's clearly dominant versus certain kinds of defenders and overmatched against others, but he's certainly no worse and probably much better than the very mediocre Solder. The line is still an issue, with Mason's injury exposing quite a bit. Wynn would have made a huge, immeasurable difference because I honestly think he's a generational talent. Alas.
