Sorry if this has already been posted and talked about to death.

Apparently Gordon is in some trouble with not paying Child support and tax evasion. I read somewhere he owes almost $7000 a month for 2 years and didn’t file taxes the years he was suspended.

Report: Browns' Josh Gordon facing jail time if he doesn't pay child support

This was back in August when he requested time off from camp.

Apologies if this has already been talked about, as I have been following the thread, but haven’t read all the 114 pages.

Just as an aside, Judges like the one that Gordon had should be disbarred for arbitrarily making up punishments and ignoring reality. 30 days in jail for a missed payment? That's f*in absurd. Especially when it's known that Gordon wouldn't see a paycheck for a month. The Judge is setting him up to fail.

After watching this, my opinion of JG has changed, I thought he was a thoughtless dummy who just did not care about life. His story is very complex and you have to understand where he grew up, the people around him, how he got away at Baylor and he is finally getting to understand consequence.

He's not. They're on his replacement's replacement. But he fired Jags, who had been doing well, and hired Spaz, who proceeded to destroy the program. Who knows if Jags would've continued the success but Spas and GDF decisively ended it.
Sorry. I meant an AD anywhere

That happened to my BIL in Florida, if he didn't pay his child support they were going to take his license away, hows he supposed to get caught up if he cant get to work.

Just imagine if on Sunday Brady and Gordon went off for a game like that 2007 season opener with Moss. The reaction around the league. I know it’s far more likely Gordon has 2 catches for 24 yards but just dream.

I still remember like it was yesterday that bomb to Moss when he outran 3 Jetes and hauled it in for the TD. That was my oh boy moment. That quickly ended with the Spygate crap and then culminated with the refs swallowing their whistles on the Tyree play.

Such a weird season.

The system is rigged. If anything, a large majority of the money should be itemized for food/clothing/healthcare and a small percentsge put into a trust for the child once they turn 18. There are plenty of options available.

He is questionable let s hope he will play...i am allready thrilled now and it is only morning...;)

That great video, what amazes me is watching the QBs just zone in on Gordon and nobody else. Its like the defence knows where they are throwing it every time. How he gets to catch it at all is beyond me. Imagine when Gordon becomes Brady's 3rd or 4th look.

That "system" has a name- the Prison Industrial Complex. It's all about making money off you- the hell with "redemption" or "reform." Once you get stuck in the machinery, it's very hard to get out.

4. I think he will do well with structure I think that is why he consistently checked himself into rehabs. I think his problems occur when he is outside of a structured environment without people holding him accountable.

Rodney Harrison via Mike Reiss (Quick hit thoughts and notes) had this to say about Brown:

I think he’s in a perfect situation because the Patriots provide stability. The Browns never provided stability, no matter what they tried to do. When you’re losing and you have different quarterbacks and head coaches, and different general managers, you can’t provide stability to a kid that needs help.

It's also rapidly becoming a "Debtor's Prison" system.

Putting all else aside re: Gordon, what's clear from his rehabilitation video is that the guy is smart, analytical, self-aware, and perceptive.

He's operating at a level mentally and psychologically that not everyone is at, and with that, in some cases, comes the issues he's encountered. Oftentimes the most troubled individuals are the most mentally/psychologically insightful.

At any rate, where I'm going with this is: the types of players who fit the mold described above generally do very well in New England, with both the tactics and schematics employed on the field and the overall culture of the program.

I'm relatively optimistic this will go well. Gordon, for all his baggage, is not only a unique physical talent, but I think he's a bit more complex, nuanced, and developed psychologically, mentally, and intellectually than some of us may think.

Of course, capital knows no bounds in its lust for profit.

Actually, I was referring to the increasingly common practice of municipal governments funding their budgets through drastically inflated fines for all sorts of violations, charging interest on unpaid fines, and ultimately imprisoning those who are unable to pay (usually people who are already struggling to make ends meet).. The private prison system does profit from this, but they're not the direct cause. That's a whole different story.

I'm not big into coincidences but Tiger nailed down his first PGA tour victory since 2013.

Last time Josh was relevant in the Best WR in the NFL was 2013.

Both men have battled addiction.

Let's hope 2018 is the Year of the Comebacks.
