The Josh Gordon Thread: Pats Officially Acquire Gordon for Fifth-Round Pick

48 Targets in total. Starts with his last game and progresses to each previous game through to his first game back last season.

I've numbered each play. If you want to see the live game footage of any of the plays let me know by telling which numbered play it is.

My personal opinion is that this is not the JG of 2013 but is still very good.

1. Still receives double coverage which tells me teams respect his abilities.
2. A lot of off target throws to him. Some are actually funny
3. A few times you'll see he had his coverage beat but because the ball was under thrown he had to come back to it.
4. I saw one drop that I would put on him. But he probably was shocked that he had an on target ball to catch. haha

Awesome job Tony. Saved me from watching the whole A22 later on. Will post my impressions a bit later but I would be shocked if it is not close to what you already said.

Very nice work. He gets very good releases and is quite productive on the quick slants and shallow crosses, in addition to the outside-the-numbers routes. Transitions from the catch to run after catch seamlessly. Fights for the ball in traffic. Some crazy bad throws in there!

If you are targeted 3 times by Tyrod Taylor, it is a minor miracle if 1 is catchable! :)

Someone pointed out somewhere in this thread that last year Gordon had 42 targets...19 of which were considered "catchable" and caught 18 of those.....

Thank you, Tony. I truly appreciate you having done this. It gives me great hope that Gordon will be extremely productive for the Patriots by the end of the year.

Great stuff. Thank you!

I’ll add one observation to what Palm Beach and you posted: his route running appears crisp and purposeful. That’s a big plus.

I dunna know, Tony. I get more insightful analysis from posters on the GDT.

This is GREAT! :p

If they are lucky, they'll finish 6-6

Whatever costs him his job. I feel dirty rooting for someone's job, but He's out of his league. He recruits well but has no idea how to manage a game. It doesn't help we're spoiled by BB, but He's well below subpar when compared with almost anyone.

BC will never be a powerhouse (unless they lower their academic standards and cheat) but they should be a consistent Top 25 program.

When they first joined the ACC, they were well on their way. Then GDF got his ego in the way and brought that to a screeching halt.

Just imagine if on Sunday Brady and Gordon went off for a game like that 2007 season opener with Moss. The reaction around the league. I know it’s far more likely Gordon has 2 catches for 24 yards but just dream.
If those 2 catches are both 3rd-down conversions, then I'll take it for now and hope to see even more as the season progresses. If instead he provides no more than what Chad Hansen could've provided, then I'll be very disappointed.

I don't think he's an AD anymore

He's still very good. 4:43 was one of the plays that stood out to me most for Gordon. But my god, some of those throws were terrible.

Sorry if this has already been posted and talked about to death.

Apparently Gordon is in some trouble with not paying Child support and tax evasion. I read somewhere he owes almost $7000 a month for 2 years and didn’t file taxes the years he was suspended.

Report: Browns' Josh Gordon facing jail time if he doesn't pay child support

This was back in August when he requested time off from camp.

Apologies if this has already been talked about, as I have been following the thread, but haven’t read all the 114 pages.
