It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I'm not an MD or have a PhD so I cannot intelligently comment on why people become addicts. Could be chemical imbalance or could be a tick in their developed behavior. Either way I'm not going to pass judgement on the guy. All I want is for him to do well here and stay clean. If he can kick this thing permanently then hes won. There is a school of thought that subscribes to the theory that addiction is not a disease but, rather, is evidence of a weakness in character. Therefore, addicts are undeserving of sympathy and/or empathy and are responsible for their conditions. It's not a theory to which I subscribe, but many do.
I think he's got an above average IQ, period. He's pretty eloquent. I'm gaining confidence in his ability to grasp the playbook as far as his mental aptitude is concerned. The question mark is whether he can handle the pressure.Something tells me he has a pretty good football IQ. I mean, I don't think you can perform at an elite level in the NFL without having an above average football brain.
It is, in fact, a school of thought. As I clearly stated, it's not mine. That's a school of thought? I thought that was just a product of ignorance?

Does the team activate him this weekend and try to ease him in with Brady against an inept Detroit team or do they roll with what they have and give him another week to digest the playbook? Personally, I would throw him in for maybe 20-25% of the snaps and keep his route concepts limited. Lets him develop the timing with Brady in real game action against a team we should beat the brakes off of anyway.

Can you think of another offensive player they've acquired in-season that was a talent of this caliber, though?Personally I highly doubt we see him this weekend unless they just ease a few plays in there for him. Besides Woodhead, can’t think of a Patriot player who was acquired and had any significant impact that same week?
Ocho might be an outlier.Did not know where to line up in the Super Bowl and caused a penalty.
If it was easy, anyone could do it... I suspect many of us would have struggled to address the issues you bring up. There are a finite amount of ressources : cap-money-talent-picks.I don't like it. But he is better than nothing.
WTH was BB doing all offseason? He should have addressed WR in the offseason.
And he didn't do enough with the defense, IMHO.
Agreed. Loads of flaws in AH's character and personality. Lack of intelligence wasn't one of them.Ocho might be an outlier.
Not sure where you are going with AH. He grasped the offense quickly here.
I'll tell ya why. Our buddy Andy is the exception as he's has football reasons (wont learn the playbook fast enough, taking opportunities away from current players which will ****** their development, etc) . Those are reasonable arguments. I heard Nink basically say this place will put too much pressure on Josh and in his frame of mind might not be ready for the 24/7 grind on being a player on this team.
Everyone else who is against this is either hung up on stupid late round draft picks and even though they won't admit it, don't want to root for an addict. They want to sit on their high horse and be able to pass judgement on how this team should win ballgames. They are the same people who were against Moss, Haynesworth, Britt, Floyd, etc.
Considering DET has Slay and some decent CBs who are capable of shutting down our WRs I'd throw him out there. They are also dealing with a coach that knows our offense very well (and Josh knows their D).Does the team activate him this weekend and try to ease him in with Brady against an inept Detroit team or do they roll with what they have and give him another week to digest the playbook? No Im not because I think those are the reasons. People on this board are adverse to giving up draft picks and don't want drunks and druggies on this team. Ive seen their posts.Over dramatizing are we?
I was not opposed to Moss, Floyd, Haynesworth or Britt and took a wait and see approach. Quite frankly I was hoping for BB to turn lumps of coal into diamonds.
Gordon is nothing like those guys. Next positive test and he out of the NFL for good. So, better baby sit him around the clock because he does not care enough about the game to stick on a Browns team. Fans and a city were behind him all the way.
Blaming everyone else for being judgmental and lacking empathy is the reason why Gordon is that way he is. Somebody elses fault. The Browns fault.

Well of course that is an ignorant belief about addiction and I doubt you can find anyone under 80 who would agree with it.That's a school of thought? I thought that was just a product of ignorance?
