The Josh Gordon Thread: Pats Officially Acquire Gordon for Fifth-Round Pick

So who was the guy speculating the Pats were going to trade for a top end WR before the season started? Was it Zolak? I'd laugh my ass off if this is the guy he's talking about.
It's Golden Tate.

It's different in Gordon's case because of the anticipation his talent brings and the possibility of someone else losing a roster spot for a headcase that could go off the rails at any moment. I'll be surprised if BB brings him in.
Again it is a low risk move by bringing him in. If the team is not confident in him they will part ways. If Gordon does get it together (even if it's a small chance) it would be a huge boon to this offense.

That is a low risk worth taking, without a doubt.

Here's what I do....give Dorsey a call and say:

2019 conditional 4th *if* he plays in 14 games.

2019 conditional 5th *if* he plays in 10 games.

2019 conditional 6th *if* he plays in 5 games.

2019 7th *if* he plays less than 5 games.

Well worth it...even if he comes in...gives us 3 good weeks...and we cut him...it would be worth a 7th at least, IMO.

You have to kick the tires when a guy has ELITE talent. That **** don't grow on trees....

Phenomenal talent in 2013. Wondering if possibly he may not be a team-first sorta guy?

It's high risk for the reasons I've suggested -- he has proven himself to be highly unstable. That plus his great talent is polarizing.

The reasons you have suggested lack validity. Where is the risk in terms of cost? Or the risk in terms of trade? Or that he is a locker room cancer?

He's a drugs-first sorta guy.

Maybe he won't change. It would be like his 15th chance. But with a cost of next-to-nothing, I'd STILL be tempted.

I could say the exact same thing about your reasons. I guess we'll agree to disagree.

It'd be fascinating to know what Brady REALLY thought about this possibility.

What the hell does that mean? People aren't allowed to point out a couple similarities?
I edited that post. Re read it. You flat out said people are comparing their talents and off the field stuff in your final sentence...LOL! Gordon has played less than half games possible because of his off field garbage! Lol
Moss NEVER had those issues. They're not comparable. Not even remotely.

BB benched Butler for the SuperBowl. Nobody above the rules. I am skeptical.
