Taking an undertalented defense, and turning into something that helps you get to the Super Bowl, is usually considered a positive on one's resumé.

Patricia helped get last year's Pats to the Super Bowl in about the same way a broken wheel 'helps' a car crash. Last year's defense was trash, it was 31st in DVOA for a reason. The fact that they made the Super Bowl is just another testament to how ridiculous Brady is and how bad the level of competition in the AFC was, really.

Haha thank God Patricia left the patriots. Couldn’t even gameplan or get a stop against a backup qb in the Super Bowl , now he’s getting lit up by a rookie qb.

It’s no coincidence the patriots defence finally looked good against a mobile QB for the first time in 4-5 years.

Given that the mobile QB was obviously not up to snuff following his ACL surgery, yes it is a coincidence.

I just noticed..this announcing team sucks. Is this the best the NFL has for Monday Night? Krist, I want to change over to Australian Cricket League

Sneaky opinion: Jim Caldwell - looks like a mannequin, actually not a bad coach (the record backs that up)
Agreed, the record is quite good.

Matty P....it's OK...only another 15 of these shytstorms to weather and then..Vacation Time!...try Pago Pago

Last year's defense was a top 5 scoring defense despite that DVOA.

Thoughts on the Jets.

The Jets clearly have a decent amount of defensive talent. Stafford has been trash, but they are doing this with a banged up secondary. That DL is having their way with that Lions OL all night.

Darnold looks to be the real deal. Still a rookie and he will make mistakes ala the pick 6. But I don't think it will be easy to hold this Jets offense down (that has a good amount of play makers) all game. They should be able to put 20 offensive points up against most teams in any case.

I think the Jets will be going 7-9/8-8 this year and will have a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde feel to them. As for beyond this point, it all depends on if Darnold makes the year 2 jump.

Wow NYJ are gonna score in the 40s... Detroit is terrible! NYJ fans gonna be full of bravado...F em

At least Darnold, Bowles, etc are remarkably less hateable than the cast the last time the Jets were alright (Rex Ryan, Darrelle Revis, Bart Scott and Mark Sanchez)

Jeez, still four minutes left in the 3rd quarter?

Just End This Slop!

What is the record for most Picks in a single game. Stafford has 4 with a lot of game left to play still.

Holy crap. They can’t even block on a screen.

I actually like Darnold, by all accounts he's a pretty good guy. If a real team had drafted him I probably would have passively quasi-rooted for him. But instead the Jets got him so now **** that guy.

Lee is twice as good than any of our backers I wish he was a Pat

And the hits just keep on coming!

There ya go, Matty, settle for 3.
