With the Pats putting Hill on IR and waiving both Hansen and McCarron.

Have a feeling we'll be seeing one guy who is primarily a Special Teamer to help with Kick Coverage.. Which was the worst of the BB era..

I just hope we don't add 2 more scrap heap WRs. What is the point really? Make it someone who has a chance to contribute or just wait for Edelman. I would much rather put White or Burkhead out wide than some scrub WR. Unless it is Maclin or Dez I really don't care. They won't make any impact at this point; or a negative one.

There are options for RB and kick returner though.

McCarron to the PS. Maybe Hansen as well.

That all depends on the other moves they make. They may decide to move on from McCarron.

Just saw Kyed mention Isaiah McKenzie was released by the Broncos. McKenzie returned 59 punts in college with an 11.7 YPR..

Electric player. Huge fumbling problem, though. I loved watching him at Georgia, but I don't know if he's the PR we want here.

I might be wrong but I kind of remember him muffing a punt against us. That's not how you get on the Patriots.

Given the nature of our zero tolerance fandom and media, it should be noted that over his career with the Pats, Julian Edelman has fumbled 19 times including 3 time in `2016 and SIX times in 2013. I guess Julian should have been given the gate years ago.

Look for McCarron to be resigned to the PS after he passes through waivers.

BTW, I'd love to see CJones signed off the Ravens PS. He can return punts as well as provide CB depth. It's a no lose proposition,

I saw that kid clank one off the facemask and I knew he was eff'd.

I still d0n't know why Paterson can't return punts.

Think of it this way: Julian Edelman is one of the top punt returners of all time, and Patterson is precisely the opposite type of WR.

PR is about field vision, quick cuts and evasiveness. For all his straight speed, Patterson has poor change-of-direction quickness.

I wonder if Billingsley gets the call.. He did return 7 punts for 91 yards (13 YPR) during his 2014 season at Eastern Oregon. He was doing kick returns his 2015 year.

2015

Also found this article on Billingsley where Golden Tate paid him a huge compliment..

Golden Tate: Lions WR Jace Billingsley reminds me of me
Replacements who know the system move to the front of the line. Billingsley is a good choice for PR, and possibly WR. I would also mention Stephen Anderson, who has similar size as Hill, as another possibility with ST role as well as H back. But if Hollister and Michel are nearly ready, then it could be a WR and PR from outside.
