He really is a great pickup. Just keeps driving and getting the hard yards. That means fresh Maroney all season long.
The Pats have hit home runs on five offseason pickups so far: Moss, Thomas, Welker, Morris, and Brady (his blocking is ridiculous). I think Stallworth breaks out soon, but I don't know what to expect from Washington.

Don't count Mills out just yet. He's not caught a pass for the Vikings, and when they discover that he's not a blocking TE and is really only suited for a team that has the luxury to take advantage of his "special skills," he'll be cut. I expect this to happen once the Vikes issues this season emerge fully, so write this down. The Pats will pick him up for their PS before the end of this season.(We won't mention Garrett Mills.)

Just because you say it, doesn't make it correct or your previous assessment wrong.
Yes....Sammy Morris is running nice and is a good pickup but I wouldn't say he is an upgrade over Dillon, except at staying healthy. I think that SB year took a lot out of Dillon due to the pounding he took (and gave) that year. Even last year, Dillon still pushed the pile when there was no reciever threat to back off the safety. Don't you think Dillon would have had a much better year last year without 8 in the box and letting the opponent have the waterboys cover the WR's?
You have to put all the parts together before you make a call on an individual. I wonder if Dillon is second guessing the decision to retire.

I think it's certainly clear that Morris has much to prove when it comes to being better than Dillon was in 2004, and that's not what I said (or, at least, intended to say). I'm saying he is an upgrade on the JUNK that was Dillon last year and, in some part, 2005. Okay, "junk" is too strong, but the guy was a shadow of himself, especially last year.
IMO, Morris has already shown more spring and playmaking ability than Dillon did last year, or would have this year - which is why I stand by my point that he is an upgrade on what we were getting out of #28, who I LOVE, in 2006.
