Game Day Thread Official Game Day Thread- Week 1 Texans @ Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

Really? Nothing positive? Because not allowing a punt return is a positive in my book. So is a partially blocked punt. Surprised at you, luuked.

I just didn't like what I have seen so far from a unit that has been consistently elite over the last decade. They will figure it out that I am sure of.

defense flying all over

So is Allen's punting so far. Add in an illegal formation on a kickoff penalty and its clear that they are still working their issues out.

Sorry, but you've clearly been drinking too much already.. Allen's punts have been fine.

Nice play dummies LMAO

Stop the comparison, this defense is playing fast, this defense is not confused, this defense gives you hope of an actual stop and not a mistake by the opposing offense.

Defense playing really well so far

Can someone please tell me more about how the defense is "totally carrying" the offense? Something about how the offense "sucks"?

*scratches head*
It's nonsense, posing as hardheaded "analysis."

Not sure if they are slightly worse on offense. 21 points in the first half is elite offense type production. Sure the first TD was a bit of a gift and they suck on third down so far, but they are going up against a top NFL defense and they are worlds better than week one last year.

The first touchdown was a direct result of the defense forcing a turnover. The defense is a big part of why they were able to drop 21 despite a turnover and multiple 3 and outs

Not an indictment of the offense, they've been good. But having a good defense shows up directly in your scoring by giving your offense more shots and better field position.

why a fair catch ? he could have returned that for a few yards

We actually have 2 WR from last year in Hogan and Dorsett. We also have 3 guys who are good (Burkhead) to outstanding (Gronk/White) who can catch as well. I am liking what I see. Let's hope they continue it..

Technically, you are correct. I meant 2 veteran WR who had proved we could rely on them. I think Dorsett is proving more in this half than last year. Woithout injuries he wasn't a lock to make the team IMO.

Why didn't McCarron return that one? If all we are going to do is fair catch no matter what, then let Chung do it and save a roster spot.

Mccaron playing it safe but he had a opportunity there and youd think he take it so he doesnt get demoted to PS

Ravens 26

Bills 0

Nathan Peterman or whatever his name had 0 First downs last time i checked
Yeah but he has thrown 4 less interceptions than the last time he started a game though. Progress is being made...

Wow, odd to see the word fast when talking about the Patriots defense.

But they have been. I'm impressed so far

Maybe I am totally wrong. Lets take it to the rewatch thread during the week.
