Kinda odd about Berrios - do we know if it was injury that kept him out of the Philly game?

unclear

Sad, but at this point Bill should just IR/Waive Langi; he'll be hors de combat for at least another month.

not easy to bring a guy back via inj. settlement release . other teams have big advantage (settlement period + 3 weeks) and agents are anxious their guys sign somewhere asap.

Maybe goes to IR after cuts so that he's eligible to return?

Why waste the IR Return on a practice squad guy?

He probably ends up on IR anyway but there's no pointing in activating him.

Yeah, something I don't see people mention much, possibly because I might be one of the only people here who thinks this, but Langi isn't even worth a roster spot. He earned it last year, looked very mediocre in limited time, and then had the unfortunate accident. I wish the best for him, but we've upgraded his position quite a bit since last season. I hope we can find a way to keep paying him at least but he probably hasn't earned a spot on this year's 53.

So unfortunate for Langi seems like it's just one thing after another for that kid. I hope he has some PS Eligibility left to give it a go again next year.

fwiw - but media availability could be a sign he's getting on the field more

Sounds like one of those Vincent Brisby type Hamstring Injuries see you around the SB hopefully not Kenny.

WE don't know yet that he's just a Psquad guy. The coaches may.

If they put him on IR before cuts (waive/injured), that means his season is over unless he reaches a settlement and is released. That may indicate that the Pats see little future for him, at least here.

OTOH, if they juggle the roster so that he makes the 53, and then is sent to IR, that only means that he's eligible to be used as one of their two "IR-return" guys. It doesn't mean that they've "wasted" anything. If there are two others who are sent to IR after making the 53-man, the Pats could use their IR-return options on them.

In any case, if the Pats wait until after cuts to send Langi to IR, that would seem to indicate that they're far from done with his potential.

We won't know until one thing or the other happens.

Most indications would have Langi as a long shot to be on 53. He was only active 1 week last year (while among few healthy scratches 4 times). After he went on IR they brought Grigsby, Lee (OLB), Bentley and Sam.

On the other hand they are still keeping him on the roster - most likely in case of injuries but as mains said, could be they still see some future for him here despite added pieces.. Of course the further they wait the longer it will take to get him back on not very likely path as SFA..

Well, until he actually starts practicing again, and appears in a pre-season game, that remains a possibility.
I actually think it makes sense. No need for him to play until he's 100%. Looking back at his career, I believe the only time he's injured a knee in college, was in the SEC Championship game vs Auburn. On 12/2/17, he hurt his knee. The next game vs Oklahoma was on 1/1/18, and we all know what happened in that game (15 total touches 222 total yards, 4 tds). Hopefully they are just being careful and he'll be ready to rip teams apart in the regular season.

I’m glad that both Flowers and Burkhead are at practice in uniform even if they’re limited. Means there’s light at the end of the tunnel. But I’m really concerned that Cannon hasn’t been seen at all in weeks.
