Boston Sports Journal... worth subscribing to?

I was just about to pose the same question, with a twist. I'm a Pats fan in Atlanta and have zero interest in the other Boston sports teams. I'm dying to read more about the Pats though. Is it worth it just for the Patriots?

I am not a member, but I think the news we get from this board as well as snippets that leak from BSJ is sufficient coverage. There is only so much sports coverage you can read...

I like it ...
Didn't get it just for the Patriots ... got it for all the local teams including the Revolution.
the Herald pretty much sucks and no way am I subscribing to the Globe.
I subscribed to BSJ and The Athletic ... there's some trolling in there but I shrug it off.
I got the diehard - 3 year deal and scored a T-shirt from BSJ.

As for Patriots news this forum is the best ... good members here very locked in with great opinions.

The blogs good also ... not great but useful IMO.

I believe that you can try the Atlantic for free for 7 days and as I understand it (Not a subscriber) you would also have access to the entire Atlantic network (most major cities/teams).

Hey! I just subscribed to The Atlantic and all I got was thoughtful coverage of news and politics! What gives?!

Lol oops, I recently cancelled my subscription to the Atlantic and guesss I still have it on my brain. Yep, decent site for news and politics but their Pats coverage is ehhh...lacking.

I think its worth it, in part because journalism needs financial support in general. One of the reasons there is so much room for mediots and click-bait artists is the erosion of the economic underpinning of legit journalism. Internet advertising seems to have peaked and dropped as a sustainable support mechanism for journalism, as well. If you aren't willing to pay for good journalism, you shouldn't expect it.

I've bugged Ian a couple of times about upping his game on the economic relationship with us users of this site, for the same reason.

I'm not aware of concerns about Bedard that @QuantumMechanic and a couple others have expressed, so it hasn't factored into my decision there.

I paid for a three year subscription and I've enjoyed it. I like news regarding all of the Mass teams and I think they do a good job of covering it all.

BUT as far as Pats news goes there is nothing better than Pats fans. I mean that seriously.

At one point Bedard was getting pretty Felgerish with his hot-takes. I responded to a tweet with my disagreement and without an insult to him.

His response was: At least I use my real name when I share my opinions and dont hide behind a fake name.

I have no interest in paying someone for their opinions (even if its for expert football observations) when this is how they think/interact with their Followers.

They advertised free subscriptions for military active and vets. I signed up several times and sent several emails...no subscription and zero response.

They responded to my vet request. I later changed it to a regular three year deal. Just an FYI.

Thanks glad they weren't just bs'ng. not sure why they never responded. I just moved on.

Between Pats fans, Patsfan sites, shows like Quick Slants and twitter I get just about enough information ... or as much info as I can digest, usually if they have something really breaking or in depth it gets discussed here anyways..

The whole thing reaks of more crass commercialism..

Isn't it fair to say every morsel of Patriots info lands on this board at lightning speed?
Isn't it also fair to say the speed of Twitter makes feature articles obsolete.

Reiss & PatsFans satisfies my needs.
