Definitely the same thing. Cutting a player over a contract dispute before the season starts is right up their with benching a key player just before kick off of the superbowl. I can see how you would equate the two with those vision impairing goggles you are wearing. I'm not sure why you are defending your boyfriend so much here.
Maybe because he's earned way more benefit of doubt than you are giving him.

BB neither has the time nor the inclination to explain himself to someone like you who enjoys the championships he provides and then questions the manner in which he provides it! I think you should just say, "Thank you," and enjoy another championship even if it was only an AFC championship.

But he doesn't provide the championships. He's even said that himself. The players on the field do. Specifically the guy under center that he relied on to bail him out of this decision.

This might be the most rediculous thing you've ever written. You obviously dont believe what you just wrote so I shouldnt even waste my keystrokes. But it should go without saying that BBs own humble response to praise does not mean he doesn't have an enormous part in providing the championships.

You missed the pop culture reference, bud.

Good job. Excellent quote.

He's a part, sure. He coaches the team. He buys the groceries. But, unless you're calling him a liar now because it suits you, the players win the game on the field. They're the ones that make the plays. He's said it himself. Are you disagreeing with Bill?

Bill Belichick emotional after getting game ball for 250th win

Belichick was emotional and humble when accepting the game ball saying coaching only lose games and players win them. He also noted that he's coached a lot of great players in his career.

You all have to get over this hero worship of the guy. For God's sake he's admitted to more of his own mistakes after one game than some of you have on here in your entire posting histories.

My bad your right Bill has had zero effect on any win. His sole responsibility to this team in the last 20 years was benching Butler and nothing else.
Take it up with him. The effects he has are coaching, in-game adjustments, and buying the groceries. The most overrated aspect of sports are the effects of coaching. They put the players in the position but in the end, it’s the players’ play on the field/court that provides the win. If coaches were as important as you make them out to be, you wouldn’t have guys like Tomlin sporting two rings. He is right though. Their decisions can certainly lose games. So if you have a problem with the quote, take up with Bill. He said it and I’m just repeating it.

Coaching most certainly lost the superbowl.

This is why I love message board posting and just debating with other posters in general. You get to pigeonhole the Belichick fans in what must be an absolutely devastating moral quandary between defending Bill at all costs while simultaneously calling him a liar.

They got out played.

Of course they did, because we had third stringers playing instead of starters, due to...

COACHES DECISIONS!

If you hold on of your best players off the field for an entire game, that is a COACHING decision that loses a game.

I love it

BB has zero blame---> He had to bench butler the entire game ----> Coaching is the most important part of winning ---> The players got outplayed ----> BB has zero blame.

Kind of reminds me of a certain orange fella in the news talking himself into corners and then throwing a hissy fit.

The only way this topic may end is if the Patriots win the Super Bowl.

You get that Nicholson was the villain in A Few Good Men, right? And that he was arrested after that speech?
Since benching a player is not the same as murder I thought maybe we ccould apply the parts that fit my joke.
