Yikes. That's one hell of a line-up in the heart of their order. They get their starting pitching figured out and they have to be odds-on World Series favorites.

The redsox are a F--king joke. i hope they get humiliated on a regular basis.

We’ll see.

Papi-Manny still > Judge-Stanton. The latter two ought to break some strikeout records this year.

Holt ****! I just heard about this.

Kinda ruins the whole overacheiving, cheap youth movement of last season, but let's be real... it's the Yanks. That wasn't gonna last long anyways.

Can't believe I'm saying this in December, but I can't wait for baseball.

Jesus that lineup is gonna be sick!

Stadium should be packed for all your home games ... was a great trade.

just like the old days. We are playing second fiddle to the Yankees. Dont worry though, stupid ass DD will empty whats left of the farm system for someone who will suck. ****ing pathetic and screw Jeter too while we are at it. Shady ********

I don't think the 2018 Yankees have the starting pitching or the depth to be a World Series contender or even a serious threat to the Red Sox this year. I doubt Judge repeats his rookie season, and Stanton is not a guy who can stay healthy. They lost some clutch guys like Castro. They'll make a bit of noise but the Sox are the better ballclub hands down and I think they'll win the East fairly comfortably.

The 2019 Yankees might be a different story though. You know they'll spend a lot of money and the free agent class is really good.

Jeter's parting gift to the Yankees strike again (twice). Hit 2 home runs last night. Shady shenanigans that brought Stanton to the Yanks. MLB looks the other way.

Yeah that was definitely a sweetheart deal but what could the MLB have done about it?

It was a good game though. Hope the Sox can keep it up. The season is always more fun with a good rival.

certainly agree JetFan79

I was happy/relieved Betts didn't step to the plate in the 9th.
I was hoping he would het a shot. he was due for a hit for sure

It sucks, but I don't think there was anything shady about it. Jeter lost all his leverage after Stanton declined trades to both the Cardinals and the Giants. Jeter desperately wanted to get rid of his contract, and NY was pretty much the only team Stanton wanted to go to who could also afford him. Prime formula for a fleecing.

Yankees can keep GianKKKKKKarlo

IIRC, the Sox said they reached out to the Marlins, but Stanton's agent said he never heard of their interest. In other words, the Marlins interfered on behalf of the Yanks.

Worked out to the Sox advantage. Martinez had a better year, and won't be making $30 million per year for the next 10 years.
