So with the 2018 draft over with, i thought we should start the new thread!

Lots of Defence Line depth in next years draft, mainly from Clemson. One thing i will say it will be interesting to see how QB's go against them..

Bring on the next draft!

Clellin Ferrell, Nick Bosa, Rashan Gary, Jaylon Ferguson, and Josh Allen are all on my radar as 1st / 2nd round EDGE players right now. As I dig into the class this fall, I'm sure that I'll find more players, but these guys could all be dynamite. Depending on how things shake out, we'll see if we need another rush type after this year. :)

Bosa, sounds like he's going to be better than his Brother which is a scary thought! Ferrell seems scarily disruptive but then again the whole Clemson D-Line is frighting

Ferrell could follow Landry's fate. A certain first rounder and likely top 20 this year he will have to have a very productive and healthy year to make it in the 1st next year.
___

After few underwhelming yrs TE could also be position to watch in 2019. Some big guys coming up who can block and receive - and that is not limited only to their hands. Here's Jerome Washington showing what the game called football should be about..

The tripple TE threat of the future using all his extremities receiving and securing the ball is also a threat to another catch rule change..

Looking at Matt Miller's first mock. he has 6 QB going in the first round. So much will change but 2019 may be a strong draft for us to get a QB.

2019 NFL Mock Draft: Matt Miller's Way-Too-Early Predictions

Herbert, Lock, Thorson, Patterson, Fitzgerald, Finley

Here his last yrs “attempt“ for reference:

only 10 of 32 went in 1st . others you can find all across the draft list and even among UDFA..

the fact that he had Wilkins #1 overall in 2018 and #30 in 2019 tells you 2 things:
- its silly
- 2019 class much stronger/deeper at the top

Finley struggles in RZ and choked in two most important games of the season which hardly makes him a “fit“ . has plenty of proving to do ..

i don't mind the draft order though..;)

I was hoping Jarrett Stidham would come out this year. Well, next year then. I want him.

Since most of us assume that we'll draft QB high next year we should have a QB thread running all year keeping tabs on the prospects.

Found this database on a draft forum that I read sometimes. I'm not very active there, but some of the posters provide a lot of content. Seems pretty useful.

Qb target - Finley N.C. state.
Ot target - Adams Washington.
Dt target - Davis Alabama.
Cb Target (and great name) greedy Williams LSU.

Davis shot himself. Def a a huge wildcard. This DL class is nuts.

On the field, I really find his size and athleticism intriguing. Off field just seems too volatile for a high round Patriots pick. Who knows, though? He could be Seymour all over again.

Been watching Ed since high school. He's a great example of what an elite player looks like at an early age.

On TE watch . Kaden Smith is certainly one to keep an eye on. Emerged late last season, good size, solid movement, can block and receive. He should get plenty opportunity this season with Schultz gone (btw Pats worked out Schultz so Id guess they are keeping a close eye on Smith as well). Having a QB for roommate helps as well..

If the Patriots get their QB of the future, nothing else would matter.

Maybe it's Stidham? Although, he showed inconsistent composure in his bowl game last year.
Maybe it's Herbert? Although his accuracy can be spotty at times, and he is liable to make some bad decisions when pressured.

Both seem to lack confidence or show proficiency in a lot of pro style decision making. However, they are maybe the most talented of the bunch.

Edit: Give me Feleipe Franks or KJ Costello, and I'll be happy.

I like both but its May w/ an entire year to go. There won't be a consensus going into the year besides it looks like a deep class.
