BGC 2018 DRAFT CB/S THREAD

Funny you mention Edmunds, because I've been putting him in my mocks lately, and thinking he probably would be better value in the 2nd/3rd than Reid in the 1st. Reid could play McCourty's role better, but Edmunds is a perfect fit for an understudy to Chung.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was wondering about!

Speaking of workout warriors in the Chung or Richards role, how about Oluokun? Hybrid safety / LB from Yale. Should be available late due to level of competition, but his highlights are fun and his testing was top notch.

Foyesade Oluokun SS Yale
Height: 6017
Weight: 229
Arm: 32.5
Wingspan: 79
40: 4.48
SS: 4.12
3-cone: 6.94
Bench: 18
Vertical: 37
Broad: 10'3

Deshon Elliot He's like a Lawyer Milloy or has some Sean Taylor to his game.

Dane Cruikshank offers positional value and premium athleticism. He's a discount version of Fitzpatrick. I don't know if he brings the same leadership and cerebral play, but he has one thing Fitz can't match: the potential for the best nickname on the defense.

Shank.

He is actually my favorite safety in the draft even though he's not the most talented.

Every time I watch him on film, he's rarely out of position or away from the ball. His lateral speed, still better than Jordan Richards, is deficient but his sure tackling and quick diagnosis of plays/routes compensate for his lack of agility.

Elliott's physicality, processing speed and great ability to communicate coverages to his teammates, offers a complementary toolset to our current safeties.

Idk where but I talked about Him a lil bit somewhere. I was impressed with his awareness & command on the field. I remember Tuls comparing him Minkah-lite. Reminds me of a cross between R. Jones & Harrison Smith in terms of patrolling the shallow zone, awareness & physicality.

He's Very under rated. Him, Reid & Bates are all top 40-60 guys for me. I'd love him here.

What, no Duke Feckin Dawson, another Slow Feckin Dwarf grotesquely over-drafted by the criminally incompetent Duplicitous Pond Scum?

@BaconGrundleCandy had him as 8th best corner (with a future starter grade), and I had him as the 6th best with a similar grade. Mid - late 2nd round was right about where I expected him to go, with 3rd+ representing great value.

I'm a lil surprised by his pick reaction but then again people have no idea just how good this class is. Which is fine. I'm happy to see we had him in pretty much the same spot & the Pats also drafted him in the 2nd.

Idk I'm not a homer but this is great draft. I think Wynn is a better overall player than both Thuney & Mason right now.

Michel might be the "starter" in terms of actually starting the games, who knows, but I think he's as good if not better than what we have now. And I love Rex.

Duke should be our starting slot by years end. Who knows but has that Ryan toughness & tackling ability. Can play almost anywhere in a pinch & his jam is a weapon in the slot/on 3rd down when timing is key.

That's 3 guys that will be big time contributors by years end. I think Wynn & Michel will be in the OROY convo as well.
