...of himself and his offense. He's throwing with pinpoint accuracy, his audibles and his protections are perfect, he's quick and decisive, and he looks like he can't possibly be rattled.

Also, judging by his interviews last night, he's certifiably pissed off and looking to wreck fools all season long.

We may be looking at his first MVP year.*

*Until he gets screwed because of a freakin' camera, that is.

for the record, after 2 games he is averaging an 80% completion rate.

SICK.

Brady was a leader of leaders last night. The guy is about as steady and solid as anyone could want in an NFL quarterback.

The rest of the team put on a show of competence and skills that should take them to many heights this season.

I was at the Fox Sports Grill in Irvine, California watching the game last night.

The place was loaded with Pats and Chargers shirts, but after that first offensive series only the Pats fans were beginning to realize Christmas can come in September....what a shellacking the boys put on a supremely overconfident and mouthy Charger team. Lights out boys....the Chargers didn't hand the Pats this one...the Pats just issued an ass-kicking like only the Pats can.

Great vindication for Bill Belichick. I'm not reading much about cheating this morning, nor are the TV nets talking anything except how the Chargers seem to have regressed a step or two under Norv Turner.

Good job, Pats. Bring on the Bills.

Not sure they regressed...I think more likely we got better...

Umm . . . let's see for a moment here:

Chargers 2006: 30.75 PF/g, 18.93 PA/g
Chargers 2007: 14 PF/g, 20 PA/g

Patriots 2006: 24 PF/g, 14.8 PA/g
Patriots 2007: 38 PF/g, 14 PA/g

January: Chargers clearly look like the better team, and the Patriots appear lucky to escape with a win.
September: Chargers clearly look out of their league, and the Chargers appear lucky to escape with a 24-point loss.

My question is: When can we fire up the Brady is better than Manning discussions, now that Tom has comparable weapons. I know it's still early, but isn't this what we all expected from Brady.

It can't all be coaching, can it? They have the same players basically...

Hey, look at New Orleans.

Last year the Chargers struck me as a talented flash-in-the-pan. They play scared, they play stupid, and they don't like to get smacked in the mouth by a bigger bully.

Brady is the calmest QB i've ever seen play the game. Nothing gets to him, and that is the reason he is so dangerous. He will put up career numbers. Brady and Moss should be co-MVP's by the end of this season.

As long as they are Co-Super Bowl MVP's, otherwise, give the regular season MVP to LT or Manning.

All these years we wondered how Brady would play if he had targets like Manning has. Brady has always been great but damn give him Moss, Welker, Watson and the guy is AMAZING.

It's obvious - we're watching something special...

and to think that most of his bad stats have come from drops and balls tipped in the air (the single interception).
