Here's the basic idea: you "game out" a scenario with two options. Whoever answers (hopefully with an explanation) then provides another scenario. [P.S. Let's not have the questions be as gross as "Would you rather have syphilis or be a JEST fan?" OK? ]

Here's my opening salvo:

Josh Rosen drops to 13. The Redskins call and offer 13 and 109 for 23 and 31. Would you rather move up for Rosen or stick with 23 and 31?

Is Mayfield and Jackson still on the board?

Let's say no.
If Im sure hes a franchise QB and is much higher on my board than Rudolph and Lauletta and Falk then yes.
If I have any of those guys ranked close to him then no.
I draft 2 athletic linebackers or trade down.

I would. Basically trading cooks and your original pick to move up 18 spots and you get to fill in a massive gap between picks.

Tennessee missed out on pass rushers in the first round and offers a 3rd this year and a 3rd next for Trey Flowers, who will be an UFA looking to cash in. Do you?

If Rosen fell that far I would probably make that trade. I think he is the best QB in this draft and the best fit for this organisation. I think his off the field character issues are way overblown and I think his personality would actually fit well here, especially with Josh McDaniels being able to challenge him intellectually with the complexity of his schemes.

I'm usually against trading up but this is one situation I would pull the trigger and find the value fair. I just don't think he falls that far and I wouldn't want to trade much higher.

Yep, would make that trade. It's a little off from the trade chart though. Should really get a 3rd back or could simply trade 23 and 43.

I'd say no to trading Trey Flowers.

The Pats still lack proven edge defenders against the run, which was a big part of last season's defensive failures. Flowers is one of only two or three proven edge-defenders on the current roster and could still be a critical piece of the 2018 defense in that area. And, with the additions of Clayborn and Shelton (plus the return of Valentine and HT), Flowers should have many more opportunities to "get home" on his pass rush in 2018.

If he hits double digits in sacks in 2018, he could easily command a contract that would provide the Pats with a 2020 3rd-round comp pick. The difference in picks received seems worth keeping Flowers for another season, IMHO.

My scenario:

The Pats traded the #23 + #95 (3rd) to the Browns for #33, #64 & #150 (5th round).

The Pats subsequently traded the #33 to the Niners for #59, #70 (3rd) & #128 (4th).

With the #31, #43, #59 & #63, the Pats have selected OT, QB, ILB and Edge-rusher.

On the clock now at #64, among the top offensive prospects on your board are Hayden Hurst (best TE remaining) and Dante Pettis (top college punt returner for four seasons). You still have the #70 (3rd), #128 (4th), #150 (5th), plus two 6ths & a 7th, but you have knowledge that neither Hurst nor Pettis will still be on the board at #70 (only six spots later).

Which do you choose?

Based upon those two alone, I’d probably go with the TE. A punt returner is nice but we need some Gronk insurance looking forward. May change my mind if Gronk signs a new contract. Having said that, Ian Thomas is the TE that intrigues me.

Reminder: you need to throw out a scenario now.

names left on the board:
QB - Mayfield
OT - Mcglinchey, Williams, Miller
LB - Vander Esch, Evans
DL - Payne, Bryan

you have the Lions at #20

your goal is to get 2 of these guys and they will all be gone by 31

what do you do? Lions are willing to deal, but they really like Bryan

do you move up twice the way they did for hightower and jones or do you move 31 and 43 or 31 and 63 or 43, 63 plus?

the Bills at 22 will almost certainly take Mayfield

Ok.

Would you rather...take one of the top 43 RBs (Michel, Guice, Jones) or wait until day 3 for a drafted back?

Wait until Day 3. Seems like a lot of decent RBs this year; no compelling reason to jump early, especially when the ILB and Edge classes seem shallower.

My scenario:

Williams, McGlinchey and O'Neill are off the board by #31. Kolton Miller or Isaiah Wynn?

Wynn for me but I can see why Miller would get drafted.

Then to answer the question, with 8 guys I like on the board, 3 picks before my pick, and then 7 more after, I stay put and pick what's there at 23 and 31. At least two other teams will reach.

my "would you"...

Calvin Ridley slides like you project. It's not a need, but let's say he's #1 in value on the Patriots draft board even by pick 10. Do you try to move just ahead of the Cowboys at #19 to get him? If so, what's the offer?
