Official Free Agency 2018

I kinda miss the old days when there’d be no moves before the starting day of FA, and the moves were like wildfire all at once.

Didn’t free agency used to begin at midnight?

Yeah, so granted there wasn’t much immediately. There were a few years there in between when it started right at 3 (like now, but almost no moves made beforehand)

No to paul worrilow

In the least surprising news of the day, the Patriots are interested in a linebacker that ran a 6.50 3-cone at his pro day 5 years ago.

Puts to bed the jordy targeting pats rumors. He wouldn’t be visiting Oakland first

People always seem to confuse the players and their agents vocally WANTING the Pats to be interested with actual interested from the team. They were never in on Talib, Sherman and will certainly wait until the FA crazyness dies down (and the panic of not getting paid at all sets in) to make the majority of their moves.

Any move above 10M APY means that they will also pay a third round comp pick for the move. If you lose that pick anyway might as well dig around and see if you can actually trade for someone with the pick instead that might even end up being on a lower salary and have more upside.

I’d say he did. 1 year 5 mil with 3 mil in incentives. Give credit where it’s due, good call CS. Now we wait for the i told you so post.
Yep. Broken clock. Although I doubt that post is coming.

Why? I am sure they will address the LB situation in the draft.

They may do that, too. But a draftee doesn't address the extreme lack of NFL experience in the LB corps that became a big part of the problem in 2017. A cheap vet like Worrilow (or even Casillas), who also plays ST (unlike Harris) helps strengthen the base of the unit while giving a rookie time to acclimate and develop for a season.

Do we have a ballpark rolling cap figure going (within half mill). Would love to know where we at!?

Miguel has us at $21,195,108. @patscap on Twitter. He's a must follow.

And Belichick, in his semi-annual tradition, strolled the sidelines as a Super Bowl head coach last year.

You mean the one who sat Butler and came up with an ingenious plan to lose us the SB? Got it.
