OT: Did Baseball just reclaim #1?

Roger has his work cut out for him

They definitely have to bring in Bill Lee and Jim Willoughby to inaugurate its return on Opening Day

And have a cop stop them at second and write up a mock ticket (hey, it's Boston)

Although, pot's legal now...

I really don't know why they got rid of them. Did the team think that Bob Stanley would experience weight loss by jogging to the mound as opposed to a ride on the cart?
Straining my memory now...

Didn't Steve Carlton injure himself getting into one once?

Or did Rod Carew get hit by one?

I definitely remember Rod swallowing his Redman when he was with the Angels... that must have felt terrible

This is what makes Baseball fun

Fenway should end the ban on beachballs

I think they said our uniforms weren't "historically accurate"

Bring back these unis while they're at it...could use some Fred Lynn as well:D

That goes for the Bruins and Pats, too

Then irony of Defamegate is that when Brady retires, the NFL will plummet like the post-Jordan NBA. Maybe more so, because Brady might be the most polarizing and obsessed-over player in US sports history.
Tom Brady should be the biggest hero in America

He isn't for one reason only:

He plays for the Patriots.

They still have the bull pen cart in Fenway. They pull it out for special occasions. Got a picture of my kids sitting in it from the 2013 season...

ray lewis probably drove away in one after he killed a man.

Football players have had worse get away vehicles. There's not many things a bullpen cart can out run but they're probably faster than Al Cowlings' Bronco

Kinda curious about what this post meant....
Just laughing at the thought of baseball reclaiming any kind of edge over football (or basketball for that reason). Not happening.

ok thank you.... I agree. Baseball is trending down down down..... they've actually had some pretty darn good playoffs lately, but it isn't enough to help the sport overall....

Lat year's World Series was bonkers.

loved playing baseball as a kid, played it for 7 or so years...

but i can't stand watching it... sooo boring, so slow... hardly any action whatsoever and when there is some action, its quickly over and back to the slow, mundane pitcher vs hitter battle

I would watch pretty much any other sport over baseball... I hate watching Golf as well, but there is more of a draw to watching golf for me than baseball

Nationally, baseball is dying. Locally? If the Sox had acquired Stanton AND Martinez and shored up that bullpen even more, they could be a solid number two. But this team is one of the least likeable teams in Sox history. Their lineup is too light. All their young players are mediocre and very overrated. And while Price is the Peyton Manning of baseball all their pitchers seem to have the gagging in the playoffs issue now. That team is not a contender.

Honestly, I think all three teams are ahead of the Sox in popularity right now
