I meant to compliment Chung from the LB/DE position. He has the athleticism to do it but not sure how long for him to pick up the role.
As a compliment to Chung? Absolutely, and I hope to see lots of that next season.
My bad for drawing the wrong inference.

I am intrigued by Ryan Lewis, the CB we acquired to take Foster's spot on the PS. He is big (6-0, 200) and fast (4.35 in the 40 at his Pro Day). My only concern, if he has those kind of measurables, why was he undrafted and available at midseason?
Off the top of my head, wasn't it his lack of game experience?

I'm also holding out hope for both David Jones & Damarius Travis as Glitch Richards replacements.

My issue was Bademosi only getting 11 snaps and Gilmore not being on Agoholor.

Those were the 2 blunders, match up wise.
I'm 99% sure that the matchup problem was that Gilmore wasn't put on Jeffrey from snap 1.

i agree, I am intrigued too. I don't watch much college football so I don't really know anything about this guy. I guess we will see in training camp.

I am just relieved that we have been relieved of Malcolm Butler and his 103 defensive passer rating. Thank goodness we have this crew that locked it down in the Super Bowl:

Agoholor.

Our best CB needed to be on their best WR. Believe it or not, Jeffery was a wild disappointment in Chicago, hence why he was dealt. He runs like 4 routes.

He is not their best WR in Philly. Wasting our 14 mil per, best CB on a one trick pony like Jeffery was dumb.

Rowe and his size with Harmon over the top accomplishes that.

Looks like I was right. I hate to see the team lose even if I was right.

How did Philly's CBs look?

Like I said, I disagree with who BB used on who.

Butler's passer rating would have been 140. lmao

???
I wonder how many few games and championships we would have won if you and your philosophy were what the patriots used.

Sometimes the game plan calls for our best corner on they best receiver. Sometimes, the game plan calls for our best CB to cover their #2, with our #2 getting help against their #1.

Umm, we have played man almost all year to sort of cater to Gilmore's strength. BB got sick of not having size CBs for mixing and matching and went out and got them. The mistake appears to be the deployment of these players.

My suggested approach is not some hard and fast rule, but if you're playing true man coverage all the time, you want to capture skill sets up against skill sets. Yes.

Gilmore is paid to be an island guy, but they picked the wrong guy. Would you put Gilmore on Mike Wallace? No. You would put your 2nd best guy on him and have a Safety bracket him, to render him absolutely useless, knowing an entire side of the field is eliminated when in man.

I can tell by people's comments on here, and the trendiness of Jeffrey's draft position and wildly overrated status as a WR in this league (whose contract will now destroy Philly's cap position in 2019 with a new, bloated deal), that there are those who think Jefferey is the superior WR to Agoholor. If you watch Philly this year, which I did NUMEROUS times, you would know Agholor was the key 1st read with Ertz.

Jeffrey would be on bombs deep taking a shot downfield, sure. But, not on most snaps.

Hence, why Harmon should have been playing CF on that side of Rowe, to take the thought of that stuff away, forcing Foles to hold it and/or go somewhere else, where it would likely be covered.

Jeffery had the exact same production as Agholor this season and was having an amazing game before Gilmore shut him down. Had Gilmore not been on Jeffery, I think the box score would have been even further apart. We already saw what happened in the first half when Rowe was on Alshon - our defense was being carved apart every drive. We saw that slightly less so in the 2nd half when the Patriots had a good chance to win.

Let's just look at the facts. Rowe on Jeffery = Jeffery gets 50 yards and 1 TD (all in first quarter, remember). Did we really want that to continue? No.

Rowe is overrated by many here and although he provides good enough value as a depth option, I hope to see an upgrade. Never quite understood the hype surrounding him. I see him as an average CB and nothing more.

The hype was Rowe's height and amazing testing numbers.

The base issue I have with Rowe is availability. He missed 7 games in 2016 (5 to ankle and hammy issues, and two healthy scratches early on), and 8 games this season (groin). It's really difficult for a young player to develop consistency while missing that much time.

I think he still has at least some potential to develop into an above average DB, but he's gotta stay healthy.

Meanwhile, until his foot injury in wk-17 that sent him to IR, JJ had been an iron man.

Very excited to see what J Jones looks like next season.

This guy is a major head case and will unlikely be reeled in. No thanks.
Question: How many “headcases” has BB reeled in that worked out? Now; second question: How many headcases has BB reeled in IN THE PRIME OF THEIR CAREER THAT ARE STILL ON THEIR ROOKIE CONTRACT WITH A REASONABLE 5th YEAR OPTION???

Exactly.

Now this I can get on board with (assuming he isn’t resigned)...

“Beat writer Hays Carlyon doesn't expect the Jaguars to be able to re-sign impending free agent CB Aaron Colvin.”

Outside CBs Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye get all the love in Jacksonville, but Colvin is one of the best slot corners in the game and is/was a big part of the Jaguars' defense. Per Pro Football Focus, Colvin didn't allow a single touchdown in his coverage, and his 0.76 yards per snap in coverage was third-best among all slot corners. Colvin, 26, is one of the top corners set to hit the market.”

I would rather try to sign Aaron Colvin than trade for Marcus Peters, though neither event is very likely to happen anyway.

draft.......there are plenty of guys with plenty of experience....I would use the entire draft on LB's and DB's.........really just need to bring in some youth to push the guys who are here......JJones may be ready for full time, but bring in someone to develop.
....need some fresh legs behind mccourty, chung, harmon

but this team won an SB with Moreland, Gay, Poteat, and Troy Brown playing corner.......why? because the LB's were awesome

Peters for $1.74M in 2018, plus a fifth year option, in exchange for probably a 2nd-round pick?

Colvin for 3-5 years, probably for more than what the Pats were willing to pay Logan Ryan?

Hmmm ... I think I'd like to hear about the 3rd, 4th, and 5th options, please.
