WEEI posts Friday is Sensitivity Training Day

I used to listen online. I haven't in years. I hope they find enough sensitivity to move forward in this tough world we now live in.

I stopped actively listening in October 2011 when they attacked Jon Kraft on live radio. It was completely unprofessional. They literally asked the guy why he and his dad were not building teams the way the JEts do it. I am not kidding you. This is mixed in between the two hyenas non-sensical rants about how there is no cap, Kraft is cheap, etc.

Two doofus radio hosts with not a semblance of understanding how to read markets, basic economics, etc. Yet, they get to lecture the audience as masters of BB's craft.

It's absolutely unreal to me that people listen to them and take them seriously. I am also surprised Davd Andrews or whoever they have on the Zolak spot there, is allowed to go on there.

And, WEEI has certainly gotten more anti-Pats, but BB still goes on there, as does Brady?

I would cut them completely off.

I would love to see a real sports talk show, one that actually is about sports.

Say it’s a football show.....then I want more of the type of information and analysis a show like Matt Chatham and his football by football provides. Instead, these “sports shows” provide no actual analysis or even football content at all, they give us a steady diet of hate based, rile em up for clickbait crap that is what Felger & Maz brought to the airways years ago.

Sadly, they got ratings and real sports related content took a backseat to insults and lies.

Weei is so transparent here, they lose sponsors so they get all sensitivity with us. The damn sponsors have no balls because they react to the morality police that complained to them in the first place.

All I really want when I put on a sports talk show is to be entertained and educated about sports.

Go figure.....

Seriously...when I tuned in for the 2 weeks before the most recent Super Bowl, they favored all of the below topics more than discussing the game itself:
  • Elizabeth Warren (who I did not know was still relevant)
  • The "pissant" incident
  • Brady kissing his son
  • How jealous the beat writers are of the radio guys because the radio guys make more money

Way back when the Dennis & Callahan show sought to "raise the bar" of sports talk radio. That show, WEEI told us, would promote and provide thoughtful discussion of the days' sports news. This was in an apparent response Eddie Andelman's fart jokes...I don't know, sometimes I prefer fart jokes and Andelman's prank calls to the crap that's on sports radio today...

D&C did not raise the bar. They called people from Roxbury primates.

....and there is nothing wrong with fart jokes

WEEI’s been getting horrid publicity lately

Ian should have a sensitivity training session for some patsfans posters on game day thread. So we will see fewer of these....
Brady miss a throw
“Should have trade this bum instead of Garrapolo”

:p

Some people just cannot tolerate when people point out their bigotry. I call those people snowflakes.

This statement is ironic.

Yes it is, because it actually isn't, because its actually your previous statement that's ironic.

Wait, that's a paradox.

I feel like I've really contributed to this awesome thread!

I remember that and it's apparent Felger couldn't pass a third grade math quiz.

Most of the best comedy comes from racial jokes and stereotypes. The same people condemning Fauria would probably laugh their asses off at Snoop’s “Todd” character. And rightfully so. It’s funny.

I don’t have an opinion either way. I think context matters and the platform also matters.

Big O and Lou spent the whole day being sarcastic assholes - uh I mean they were a bit *salty* - on the air today.

I think they got a talkin’ to before the show and they aren’t terribly happy about the going’s on.

I think there may have been a loss of a sponsor or something like that. Not 100% sure
Interesting take.

"Never intolerant or harmful to our listeners" = "K&C fired"???

What if the day of not-live programming gets higher ratings than the ass clowns they normally have on?

im kinda ticked off about this.... wtf am I going to listen to all day when they are all off virtue shaming the on air talent?

On one hand, this is embarrassing.

On the other hand, I can't stand Christian Fauria (dude is a painfully unfunny meathead with a very annoying personality) as he ruins the pre-season games each year.

Try music...

So, people are offended by words on a device with a multitude of listening options and a little on/off switch.

I don't give much of a sh!t about WEEI, but they obviously are getting very good ratings. So the many people who do like the content can't continue to like the content because people who claim to be offended can't choose a different show?

I never understood it back in the day when Howard Stern was generating all those complaints for being vile and nasty. Listen to something else!

I'll never get the people who allow the words of others to offend them. Considering yourself a victim can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. If I were into that sort of thing, I would avoid the things that "offend" me.

Demanding others not to like a show? Sounds kind of, dare I say, intolerant.

While never what I would call compelling ... there was a time when WEEI was decent before 98.5 started.
In spite of the politics in the morning ... there would always be at least 1 interview starting in the morning which was nice.
They lined up other interviews throughout the day and those were usually interesting to hear other coaches, players, GM's and media people.
If you listened in the morning they would announce the interviews for the day - so you were either interested or not.

Then advertising dollars dropped and they trimmed their budgets and the interviews went away.
They lost the Celtics so there's rarely any basketball or puck talk ... and they are supposed to be a sports show go figure.
They talk Patriots or Red Sox and it's more gossip chatter as opposed to nuts and bolts talk.

WEEI went through a stale period (Mike Salk era) and then they morphed into the crap they are now.
I used to tune in from time to time but generally found it like nails on a blackboard - gossip, shock crap and banal chatter.
I could give a **** what they are up to - like I said I liked the interviews and without those it's just banal noise.
If it's a compelling sports talk day I sometimes listen for 30 minutes or so in the early or late afternoon ... but 30 minutes is all I can stand.

How is it that you're a sports talk show but you can only handle 1 major topic of the day.
Felger is annoying but he at least will talk all 4 major local sports and sometimes even the Revolution.
I can tolerate Felger's trolling if he is at least on topic and discussing other possible angles to a story.
If 98.5 would can Mazz Felger would have a much better show ... Mazz is the worst ... a professional whining ... annoying ... asswiper.

I know my sensitivity needs to get some serious training. Hell, it needs to get in training. It is just too weak to assert itself
