Malcolm Butler Mega Thread

Again. Richards was not started over Butler. Those are different positions. Richards would have been on the field either way in certain sub packages.

who'd he start over then? If Butler is at corner to start this game, he PLAYS that corner slot. Richards doesn't start period. Look, I'm not arguing this with you or anybody else. I want to find out why Butler was sat down after played CB all season.

This loss is on BB. You can't tell me that Butler doesn't make a difference after watching this game. The defense was atrocious.

If Butler plays, we win.
We were outcoached, period. I love myself some BB, but Philly coached better in this particular game and Bill as great as he is, made a few questionable decisions.

Just either get rid of Tom or Bill so fans can get their answer. I was a fan and season ticket holder long before Bill and Tom got here and hopefully health and age will allow me to be one long after they are gone. That said I want Bill and Tom together as long as possible but it seems there is a significant portion of the fan base that has to know who is responsible for this tremendous run we've been privelaged to witness.

Except we have multiple players saying they knew the entire plan going into the game. So this was not a last minute knee-jerk reaction.

Rowe said he didn't find out he was starting until just before the game, and that Butler had been in the packages all week.

Gilmore said he found out Butler was out when everyone else (fans/media) did.

Butler was also warming up with the starters today.

Some players knew some didn’t. Looks like a team that wasn’t prepared today.

That just makes it even worse, now there’s confusion heading into the game, not on the right page. How they can let this happen iss beyond me

If a concussed Gronk gives us 9 for 100 2 scores I’ll take a concussed Gronk all day.
Meh. it doesn't matter. There's plenty of blame, excuses, opinions...

Luckily, I'm not taking as bad as I used to.
It's not worth the misery.

It just looked like everyone could have played, planned, coached better...

Ahhh, what the hell do I know.

I'm going to get up tommarrow , and move on.
They have to live with it.

See ya next season , and try again.

Well some players didn't know. The truth will come out eventually.

Hopefully. Like I said until we know exactly what happened I will assume that BB did this for a valid reason. We have the least knee-jerky coach in the entire NFL and yet a lot of people jump immediately onto the Butler side of things without knowing anything as of yet.

So, you can see alternate realities and you can know, for certain, that having Butler on the field would have guaranteed a win? WOW. Care to offer up the winning lottery numbers?

I am as disappointed as anyone that Butler didn't get a snap on the defensive side of the ball. Especially since Richards and Rowe played like crap. But the one thing I know for a fact is that no one can know what would have happened if Butler was on the field instead. All I can posit is that the game would have been different.
You're right, I should have been explicit in that there was an extremely small chance that the Eagles put up 41 with Butler in the game. That said, if you believe that they would have... But hey, if that's the straw you wish to grasp onto, go nuts. Wouldn't be the fist time.

Everyone changes. Unless something really bizarre happened, BB's behavior is inconsistent and likely cost the Patriots, and Brady, a 6th superbowl.

You only believe it's inconsistent because you don't have all the information and are insisting on making a judgement without it. .

I’m the same way man. Taking this one much better than 07 and 11. Just peeved at the defenses performance

Richards was not a slot corner. He has a very narrow role as safety/lb in certain subpackages. That is how they even got him matched up on that wheel route.

Guess Bill didn’t have all his Ducks in a row this week when he was taking in a twolves basketball game.

Nick Foles, mind i NICK FOLES, lit them up... Pretty bad.. Get ready to jerk off to the AFC east titles cuz thbis the last bit at the. apple
Yeah, I mean never mind that Foles has made the pro bowl and is somewhat notorious for getting hot.

You know, this IS the team that absolutely shredded Minn last week, the supposed best defense in football.

Maybe among people that have issues with moving on. This will be another trivia footnote in the history of games that mostly Patriots fans will remember.

Issues with moving on? That's all of us. This is football. We dissect stats, players, and number of championships from the 1930s onward and can rattle them off the top of our heads. I notice you didn't have ask which Carroll play I was talking about, right? Because you immediately knew exactly what boneheaded play I was describing, just like everybody will immediately know that boneheaded coaching decision Bill made when he held out his best corner, stood watching idly by as his defense got destroyed by Nick Foles, and refused to correct the situation when he easily could have.

This needs to be edited. He has a very narrow role as safety/lb in certain sub packages which allows the person he’s responsible for to be wide open every time.
