The offense was complete trash in the first half too. They just sucked for two less quarters than the defense did. Why are we letting them off the hook?

Honestly, they needed all the bounces to win the last two Super Bowls, and this time the bounces went the other way. Game's almost certainly over if they stop them on 4th and 1. They probably win if not for the strip sack. It sucks, but that's football.

Brady had a 58% completion rate tonight. Thats not Brady. Brady is in the 66% range when he is hot. NE tried to jump start the offense with that stupid pass to Brady. Brady was off. I could tell by his eyes that this would bve a tough game. Brady fumbled at the worst time.

After thinking it through I think the game hinged on BB benching Butler.

Its a lot like Seattle game last after he traded Collins. First game without him the defense played like crap. And crap in a way that was totally non-Patriots like.

In this game he benches Butler. And the defense sucks the whole game. And by sucking I mean things like missing tackles. Things you don't expect from the patriots. Its almost like their heads weren't in the game.

And maybe throw a flag for the offensive holding that directly led to a 30 yard completion and 7 more points.

We lost cause defense played the worst game in Superbowl history. But it would be nice to know how it would of unfolded if it was called like it should have been

WTF could possibly justify benching him for the entire game on D but having him play special teams? Having trust in a great coach is one thing, but if Butler really did something heinous, he wouldn't have been dressed or playing special teams. I was a huge IBBIT guy, but I simply can't imagine a schenario where it makes any sense not giving Butler any snaps in the superbowl when Rowe and Richards are playing like ****e. Had Butler not been playing on special teams, there would be plausible explanations. I hold out hope that there is some bizarre explanation beside ego that would explain it, but his playing special teams makes that extremely remote.

Whatever he did was enough for BB to bench him for the SB. You know how people were saying good when BB benched Jonas Gray or send Revis home for tardiness ? You think he would start bending his own philosophy just because it is the SB ? **** that.. Nobody is bigger than the team is the lesson here.

I dont understand why people immediately want to put the blame on players that were not even on the field if there is enough to critically dissect about players that actually played.

This game has taken 10 years off my life ! The D was horrible , the coaching was bad and benching Malcolm makes no sense. I actually am tired of these nail bitters, BB better make some serious changes in the off season and field a better D that gets constant pressure on opposing QB's and make some damn stops !!!
I am depressed !!!

When has a Belichick team ever gotten consistent pressure on the QB? He rarely pays that position. He gave a ton of money to Hightower even though he can't stay on the field. He plays this game we almost certainly win.

If Gronk retires and Lewis leaves, along with the huge holes in defense...Any cap space is going to need to be stretched out a long way.

That fourth down play sure was asking for it. If that stupidity turns out the way it normally does, this is a completely different game.

The missed FG by Ghost set that call up. I think if it was 15-15, Philly kicks the FG to go up at half. Having the lead already, they went for it. Plays matter in a lot of ways.

What bothers me is that as bad as the eagles D was they were able to make one critical stop and they pats could not. Pats D has so many chances to end that game. Instead every single third down the eagles completed a pass for a first.
