The Cat is ready...

...to take down the birds.

"I'll show them" has never proven to be the cause of a player outperforming what he does on a regular basis.

I like the motivation.

Iggles run D is very good. Only Zeke Elliott, Morris and Gurley had standout games vs them.

We'll find out.

Yikes.

This is the Joe Banner/Lombardi connection...Lombardi followed Banner to Cleveland, they fleeced Grigson in the Trent Richardson deal, had Dion Lewis in camp, and then they all got fired.

And fans, trolls and the media wonder why the Pats are so well run?

Well, they're not morons for starters.

True - but for 1 game how many of us have seen our team in any sport benefit and be victimized based on the theory.

I did a quick eye pass of your post and somehow I actually read that as "Only Zeke Mowatt had standout games vs them".

Dust off the Patriot Missiles, boys.

I believe Elliott played them when they were resting everyone in Week 17. Philly avoided Elliott earlier in the year, if I am not mistaken.

However, Alfred Morris dusted their overrated D for 17 carries and 91 yards for 5.4 YPC.

Kareem Hunt, 13 carries 81 yards.

I could go on with how Philly hasn't played a legit offense like ours.

Maybe pump the breaks a bit on this vaunted Philly D. Jax's D was better and they ,too, hadn't faced a team like NE all year.

When Philly played a pretty good offense, they got torn up.

That Oakland tape in December? BB will looking at that a whole lot. Oakland toyed with that D.

Said it before and will say it again: Every time the media wishfully praises the opponents' D to such a degree, it sounds like just that (Wishful thinking to avoid complimenting the Pats anymore than they need to), the Pats D takes it to heart and comes out and lays waste to the opposing offense.

I am not saying a shut out or anything along those lines, but essentially slamming the door at some point during the game.

Don't be shocked if the 20 points or less aspect comes into play yet again in a Super Bowl for this D.

The Patriots running backs were supposed to "tear up" Jacksonville...19 rushes for 46 yards and 10 catches for 54 yards isn't exactly "tearing it up"...
The 2003 SB (Pats vs. Panthers) was suppose to be a defensive game for the ages. And it was, up until the 2nd half when it turned into an offensive explosion.

I guess the lesson is, it doesn't always go according to expectations. Competitively, the AFC and NFC are fairly balanced with top teams. Not like some prior years when the real SB happened in the championship round.

He and James White will destroy eagles by a thousand cuts....

Double set backs all the way down the field...This would be it. McDaniels has not used it enough, IMO, but what better time to unleash hell than in the SB? No need to ever sub, quick snaps, some hurry up on a drive here or there, etc.

Sub off Lewis on 3rds, keep White, install Amendola on 3rds.

Hogan Gronk Cooks

Lewis/White

No need to sub for the skill set.

Were they really supposed to?

Besides, this thread isn't about matchups, but rather one former Eagle's motivation.
According to the local media covering the Patriots, they were going to attack Jacksonville w Lewis, White, Burkhead...didn't work out well. Lewis really only had one impactful play, granted it iced the game...Would love to Lewis have a huge game Sunday, but certainly wouldn't bet on it

What about Tom Brady?

What about him? Was there some part of the 'outperforming what he does on a regular basis' qualifier that escaped your notice? The GOAT shows everyone just how wrong they were every time he takes the field. A 'basis' doesn't get any more regular than that.
