Just Another Game for the Pats?

I would hate to lose a super bowl to Nick Foles. He likely will make some money elsewhere if he loses but if he wins the super bowl he might get some hype and a long term deal. It's a winnable super bowl if our defense comes to play early.

We are playing the Eagles not Nick Foles. There are about 50 more players involved in this.

There is no way that he will get a long term deal even if he wins the SB because Wentz will remain their guy no matter what.

Our offense has been a bigger issue in the last weeks than the defense, so maybe you should hope that they have a more consistent game than against the Jaguars.

I feel confident about our offense against this team especially if Brady gets time. I just wanna see an aggressive approach from the start but it might not be like that and more about feeling them out early.

I hope it is not but fear it could be. Yes, that’s plenty of story line
Maybe it will be, but I'd put good odds on us returning with Hightower and Edelman. Heck, even Malcolm Mitchell could be a major contributor if he bounces back.

I don’t know if I’m over analyzing, but to me, this seems to be the most relaxed Patriot’s Super Bowl team I’ve ever seen. They just seem so calm and confident. Brady seems so chill, always having fun and smiling. Maybe they are treating it as just another game. I will say, if they play the game just like they did vs the Titans, they will be very tough to beat.

Granted, there are a lot of NEW guys, and maybe they will freak out a little prior to the game. I read somewhere that there are only 11 guys left from SB 49, not even sure if Edelman and Hightower are included in that total. So it’s a new experience for a lot of the guys. But their leadership has been there several times.

My hope is they get after the QB like they did against the Titans. A lot of people are saying, to beat Brady, you have to hit him a lot. But nobody is saying what’ll happen to Foles if he gets hit a lot, sure would like to find out. Bottom line, I think this team is cautiously optimistic, and I don’t think is fake confidence.

It's a football game. If they win, great. If they lose, life goes on. Time stops for nobody.

emotionally - this is just an icing for me. i'm at peace now.

BUT THINGS CAN CHANGE FAST

imagine if we either completely dominate the eagles(like dropping 50 burger) or we pull another dramatic comebacks.

that will change quickly.

but i'm not sweating.

That’s true. I’ve been getting that issue where the barrage of stuff during super bowl week starts making you paranoid

Edelman and high coming back will make next year more dominant than this year. All the talk about rifts and end of the dynasty stuff starts bleeding into my mind

But Gary tanguay said the eagles will win and this is the weakest pats team ever to make the Super Bowl. Actually I felt pretty good about the game after listening to that clown.

I'd say the Pats team that faced the Bears was weaker than this one. Just saying.

I think it's the opposite - no game is "just another game" for the Pats. They go into every week with a will to win, particularly their QB and head coach.

I think it's just another game for NE.

Been there, done that...

He's the biggest moron. 2011, especially with Gronk basically unavailable, was far weaker.

It might feel different in the locker room, but this Super Bowl birth feels rather ho-hum compared to other years. Maybe it is winning 2 of the last three seasons. Or maybe it is the lack of a compelling storyline surrounding the Patriots winning. In either case, this year doesn't feel like the story is special and the upcoming game feels like any other game for the Patriots.

My question is whether this game being like any other actually helps the Patriots to achieve victory. Can the Patriots tap into this lack of distraction and have an even more focused Super Bowl effort than past years? Or is the lack of distraction more a problem, since this team has seemingly fed off of controversy in past championships. Moreover, does the lack of chaos in the media benefit the young Eagles who could founder if given too much media attention? Just a little food for thought and not meant to slight this team in the least for their great effort this year.
Bullsh*t:

Are the New England Patriots the greatest franchise in NFL history? (Nope, and it’s not even close.)

Note: Packers won 4 SB's, not 5.

Nonsensical.

We win Sunday, we're #2 in my opinion, maybe #1.

In the sense that the coaches and players have been prepping for this game the same way they prepped for the previous 18 games this season, yes, it's "just another game."

I don't understand where you're coming from. IT'S THE FREAKING SUPER BOWL!!! I'm excited as hell the Patriots are in the championship in a year where I didn't think they had the horses to make a run at it. You seem to believe they need a major controversy to overcome for it to be worthwhile. Who would've thought they'd be here without Hightower, Edelman, Cannon, Mitchell, Rivers or folks like Ealy panning out? If they beat Philly it will be the greatest coaching achievement since 2001 vs. the Rams.

I agree with the preparation part, but I don't believe that individually they don't. Too much at stake. Having the rich experience that the Pats do, it rubs off on all the new guys though.

Gary Tanguay is a complete moron when it comes to sports knowledge. As a fellow Mainer, he embarrasses me.
