Pats favored in SB, but underdogs?

Britt will be unleashed directly to whereever the inactives will be seated.
Quite possibly with a seat next to Gillislee.

I see this game as being fairly even? Both are capable of winning it, and both are capable of making mistakes to lose it as well.

We’ve not been invincible, and there are weaknesses to our game - and Philly have played at a consistently high level all season. I’m not saying they are necessarily better than us, but they shouldn’t be discounted so easily..?

This is not Foles v Brady - it’s team v team, and this game could go either way IMO. We don’t do SB blowouts, after all...

definitely shouldnt be discounted. but wouldn't say Philly has been consistent all season....with Foles for sure. They've been a roller coaster since he took over the reigns. looked good against the woeful Giants, then struggled mightily against a poor radiers defense. was a game manager, check-down artist against the Falcons, and then was a world-beater against Minnesota.

It seems to me alot of people are buying into the last game Foles played as being the expected for the super bowl. Its possible, but its also important to look at his body of work this season and see that game as a possible outlier. He goes from having the worst QB-rating in the league against pressure to perfect QB-rating against minnesota.

not saying he can't because he surely can pull a great game out of himself, but football is a week to week game and there is a reason he is a backup. IMO chances of him repeating last week 2 games in a row is not on his side.

But thats all up to Bill/the pats defense making sure he doesn't get comfortable. Patriots need to blitz and get after him often to make him not get comfortable. Pats defense let Bortles get comfortable which made the game easier for him. HOWEVER bortles is a running threat. Foles is not which means the defense doesnt have to worry about the QB running.

I’m glad he’s not a run threat. QBs like that drive me crazy watching the game

No MVP winner since 1999 has won the Super Bowl
Passing yards leaders are 0-51 trying to win the Super Bowl

Brady will destroy all of these

I’m happy for the motivational stuff like this. Brady has nothing to prove and keeps suspension letters to use

yeah, bills defense against Running QB's drives me crazy. sure he stops the run, but sitting there watching the likes of Geno Smith, Josh mccown and Blake Bortles sit back in clean pockets making easy throws gives me a heart attack.

Anyone worry about the mvp curse?

I hope like hell that Belichick attempts to drive home the “us against the world” mentality. This would help them to embrace the role of underdog, which for all intents and purposes they will be with a crowd that certainly favors the Eagles.

There won’t be any more fog horns or minutemen. No more swirling winds towards the lighthouse. No more home field advantage. Everyone will have to play their best game and the coaches will have to develop several game plans that can be shifted on the fly. The Pats aren’t simply going to show up and be given the trophy. They’ll have to work hard for one more game in order to finish the job.

This team obviously plays its best football when people start doubting them and they relish something of an underdog role.

Patriots won't buy into their own hype. Eagles might. That could play a factor.

Eagles made it here for a reason. They are VERY solid in the trenches on both sides and that Dline is 7-8 deep.

Eagles biggest problem lies at QB, the gulf between Foles and Wentz is huge. Philly squeaked by OAK and NYG, lost to DAL 6-0 (meaningless game but still...) and barely got by ATL only because Sarkisian made an idiotic call at the goal line.

NFCC The Vikes served up 14 off turnovers and went into meltdown mode. The defense vanished completely and made Foles look like a super stud. That Minny secondary looked like squirrels on a busy freeway.

That being said this is a Pats bowl. If NE wins the turnover battle and makes Foles beat them with his arm I envision a score similar to the Jags game, somewhere in the 24-20, 27-20 range. Of course Philly can win, can’t account for random bounces or miracle catches (there will be one somewhere), but Philly is much more preferable than Minny at home. Go Pats!

Eagles have better offensive and defensive lines. They should win this game since football is won at the line of scrimmage. Foles won't be called on to do too much. If they can run the ball and keep Brady off the field. Pats are not Vegas underdogs but are talent underdogs here by quite a margin.

Are is a present tense word, maestro.

So, you mean never in this millisecond of existence? As opposed to it's definition?
