They took nothing that we need this season. That's what matters.

Boy, can you imagine Goodell having to stand next to Kraft and Coach B after they win the super bowl this year?

Can you imagine how pumped Coach B and the players are right now about this? They've given the team the ultimate "us against the world" motivation.

foolish, don't miniminze losing a #1 pick, they're like gold. and all teams other than the pats benefit moving one spot up in the later rounds and the subtraction of a quality player the pats could have had. and they could have traded that for a #1 the follwoing year which could be a high 20 pick

Stop trying to jinx us for god sakes. We are a ways away from winning the SB let alone making it.

Draft picks represent several things:

1) A roster spot...I'm sure the Pats can find a player to fill the spot.

2) Monetary investment...I'm sure the Pats will spend it wisely

3) A marketable asset...Here is where it starts to hurt. Can't trade that asset for a player now.

4) Draft flexibility...Major pain here. Draft positions are never static, and the Pats are now more limited in what they can do to get the players they want. With what looks like a potentially stellar draft class (depending on early entries), that really bites.

Not devastating and not overly difficult to recover from, but it still ticks me off since it didn't have to go down this way.
