I have to say, the Pats coordinated response is weak. They could have outright denied all this but that statement does not do that. Some of this true and we all know it.

Could he be a source? Pretty close to things...

If Holley wants to write another book with authorized access on the Patriots, he would never be the source for anything like that. Holley's one of the good ones, so it's sad to see him taking this as gospel.

Exactly. The statement says there are theories out there that are "unsubstantiated" (which implies those theories may be true) and "highly exaggerated" (which outright says that there's something there, but ESPN stretched it).
totally. People around here should look at the situation more honestly.

Their presser did that. I'm not sure what else you want them to say.

**** man we are losing Brady and Jimmy G dumbass B.B. is handing the team to Hoyer. Wait that’s if Kraft doesn’t fire him than we lose All 3

Don't forget Bob is selling the team to Alan Eagleson...

His amazing sources essentially got everything wrong when it comes to specific things. There is no PotW award, Brady didnt carelessly injure Hogan, Brady doesn't want to be called "sir", BB didnt meet with Goodell last week, TB12 was never locked for JG....

Great sources.. all that is left is innuendo

Was strange to see those examples. Good to see them debunked because they're some of the sort of outrageous defaming type things and made the story more sensational than necessary.

Some of Wickersham's past articles in 2017 indicated access to Brady and Belichick family / friends. I wonder how he can get close like that while also seemingly getting it wrong that JG was locked out of TB12 with a conspiracy-laden tone.

I think posters here are being fairly naive about all this. No doubt that Belichick is not leaving the Pats. But something is up that Belichick is not happy about.

Honestly I would not blame Kraft to order no trade on Brady. (I don't think the is what happened, and that may be what the statement discusses as "exaggerated")

Moving on from Brady would have been stupid and sad and it is not comparable to Montana and Young. Montana was down for nearly two years!

I didn't like the focus on unsubstantiated in there either. But I think all of us can agree that "highly exaggerated" is very likely the case. I doubt there is a single one of us who would think that Brady didn't get upset over Guerrero's lack of access, or doesn't think that BB believes Guerrero to be a distraction and snake oil salesman that he puts up with because his best player trusts him, or doesn't think that BB wanted to hold onto Jimmy G as insurance because his starting QB is 40 and if he's still playing at the top level at that age he'd be the 1st. That seems very plausible. "Highly exaggerated" is all the rest of the "stories" and "implications" of that.

I dont think he has any real access but as everywhere in high profile business you have some low level goons who actually dont like where they are and they give away whatever second / third hand story they have for a kickback.

All you need are 1-2 Kraft Inc. employees that work at Gillette or at Patriot Place. Add in some rumors here and there that seem vaguely connected and there you go.

This is a good take about who may have leaked the original report that the ESPN story was coming to Bruce Allen. It may wind up hurting ESPN in the long term.

I don't think anyone here is thinking that it's all roses. I'm happy to acknowledge that there is some "friction" right now amongst all parties -- but it's the same "friction" that we all face in our relationships. There's nothing out there that suggests from a verified source that BB wants out, that Brady wants BB out, and that Kraft is overruling BB and giving him mandates.

Couldn't happen to a nicer network.
