Forgettabout it, posting thermometers is no big deal and not an NFL rule violation, all the Pats were doing was warning them about the dangers of frigid football...

This is not new, he has done this before.. not sure there are any rules (yet) regarding what you can wear under an NFL uniform... they tell the players to dress in layers.

He’s worn it for years in cold weather games, I think Mark Sanchez and other QBs learned about it and started doing the same thing,

Could've been an intimidation tactic. Or maybe just a courtesy?

**** like this justifies the statement I made in another thread. I knew Pats would play the Saturday night game in two weeks because they are the NFL's biggest draw.

For every Pats fan there is, there's probably two haters like this.
TWO? LOL, how about 2 million???

screwing with the Jete..

Did the Patriots just start Thermometergate with the Jets?

harmless fun to get in their heads.

Or given the quality of reporting it wouldn't surprise me to find out the thermometers have been there for ten years.

I hope the thermometers were rigged to show it was colder than it actually was.

He probably leaked this himself, just to create the distraction for other teams, knowing it won't matter to his own.

I have to half-agree and half-disagree with you. There are indeed rules regarding what players can wear under their uniforms. Barring medical issues, they are not allowed to wear bandannas or skull caps, nor can they wear anything with logos showing from the outside.

However, the league gives a lot of leeway with regards to safety and cold weather gear. The policy specifically states that players may wear "approved cold weather gear," including under their helmets.

The league wants 2 things: All players to have the same uniform on the outside and ZERO logos of any company showing (beyond the NFL approved vendors of course).

IMO the weird part is that most of the players went with bare arms. (While huddling in front of the heaters, of course.)

Anyway...putting up a thermometer is a "questionable tactic"? If any other team did it, it would be called a "funny joke."
