Yes it is a first offense but what a first offense. I would suspend him a game for the hit. I would also suspend the other guys who people are talking about as examples why he won't be suspended. A defenseless player who is on his stomach out of bounds and hit well after the play. What ever happens Gronk brought it on himself and it hurt the team. I guarantee the league will suspend him and not for the hit but to hit the Patriots and to appease both owners and others who will cry hey he didn't get suspended because he is white (I believe the entire Brady episode was because of these two factors, to appease owners and players who were complaining Brandon Marshall: White players treated differently when it comes to NFL discipline ).
No I think the league is trying to prove to players like Marshal it is not racist by taking an opportunity to hit the Patriots which makes other owners happy and had the opportunity to say hey we went after the biggest player (Brady) and now they will say the same with Gronk. Big difference is Brady was 100% innocent while Gronk is not. If all things were equal, Gronk won't get suspended. I think he will. Again if I were running the league he would get suspended but so would those other players.this is an interesting concept...so you think it's a "whute privelege" thing going on and this justifies the way Gronk has been treated like a criminal the past few seasons? Brady was treated better than Ray Rice? Really? So, destroy Gronk's knees because "white privelege"?
If this is so, then maybe it's time to segregate the league.
As far as Gronk continually getting shafted in calls, he is a men among boys and the reffs just feel like tough.

This is also the issue with Cam Newtonas not only a lifelong fan of the NFL, but a 6 plus decade participant in our society, I cannot agree with this. The ref is supposed to ref...without bias. Period.
It goes without saying that what Gronk did was despicable and without excuse. The whole problem is what the process is going to be.
I find unbelievable that there isn't a Standard Procedure to stuff like this in the NFL. I mean, fights happen in Football, no matter what level you play, we really shouldn't be wondering how Gronk's action should be punished (And it should).
Then again, We'll never have a standard procedure, because the NFL won't act fairly. This system is kinda f**** up

Maybe he should have. It was a very dirty move. Some think that Gronk should have been ejected.
Some think that Gronk should have been ejected.
I'm one of them. If a throwing a punch warrants ejection, that sure as hell did. Some think that Gronk should have been ejected.
