Mrs RW will be chaperoning my 7th grader and a number of children from her class to Gillette Stadium today. They'll be touring the Pats Hall, the locker room and trying on gear and also visit other parts of the stadium. I guess they finished first in some charity fundraiser for Central MA 7th graders and this was the prize. I told her to take some pics and I'll post them here.

I told her if she sees BB to ask him when Vincent Valentine will be activated :p.

Nice! Wish I was a chaperone. I've never been down to Gillette and look forward to taking my own field trip at some point.

You didn't volunteer to be a parent chaperone? Too many white Russians man!

Cool field trip - my kids have only done the generic MA field trips like Museum of Science, Aquarium, a Duck Tour, etc. My wife is the perpetual room parent for both kids so she's always chaperoning...

LOL!

I wanted to go but I needed to drive my 5th grader (as Mrs RW is on the bus with the kids) to school today and then pick her up at noon b/c she has 1/2 a day. I would have been giddy in the locker room. Giddy.

Plus I had nothing to do with his fundraiser (except shell out $$) . Only the parents that helped are going.

Yea mine too. Shes always over at the schools doing something.

Its the greatest field trip ever. When I was a kid all we did was go to the friggan Museum of Science.

Yeah, health & finances have precluded my visiting Gillette. I was at some games at the old Sheaffer stadium, along with my trusty seat cushion, but I just haven't been able to to get down to Gillette. It's on my bucket list, though, hopefully in the spring when it warms up.

I was able to do a stadium tour a few years back (I was there for a vendor conference in the 200 Club Level). It was pretty cool, but they didn't let us into the Patriots locker room, they were very specific that no one was allowed in there if they weren't part of the organization, pretty much to keep it as a safe haven for any player who was in the building. We were able to go into the visiting locker room, which at the time was just painted in UMass colors as that's when they started playing home games there. We saw the officials locker room and were also able to walk up the hallway that leads to the stairway right behind the Patriots bench (which has the bathroom McNally used on that fateful night). Other things of note was the mini-jail cell used when people are arrested at games, and as the tour guide told us, during Country Fest and other concerts they build a bigger make-shift one with chain link fencing out in the parking lot...because the mini one gets filled very quickly!

Two of my kids have done this tour and it's hit or miss. One class went into the club (and the Hall) and saw a few players; the other went to the Hall only and was told there was another event scheduled so they couldn't go anywhere else (and my daughter, already having been to the Hall several times with me, was bumming they didn't get to do more). I hope they did make it into the lockerroom - that would be cool!

I do have a question about the facility. When the game starts, the team comes running out of a tunnel. At half time, they go down a set of stairs. Where does the tunnel come from and where do the stairs go???

True. I remember doing that as a kitten.
I just texted her. Stay tuned.

My guess is there are two ways of getting to the locker room. One is the stairs right near the sidelines which is right near the locker room and the other is where the players come out there is a big door that leads them to a hallway which run underneath everything and eventually leads to the locker room.

I’ve heard of conferences/conventions being held at Gillette. That would be cool.

Correct, the Patriots locker room main doors are right at the 50 yard line, straight ahead is the hallway to the stairs behind the bench. There is also a large concourse that runs under the entire 100 section, turning right out of the locker room takes you towards the light house endzone, turning left you would go past the visiting locker room, on the way to visitors entrance way onto the field. Also in that area is where the visiting team buses pull right into the stadium from the parking lot.

Can you ask Mrs. CW to sneak into the Deflator's secret bathroom and snap some pix and maybe get some temperature reads.
I'd also like to know how much gimlet mix Krafty keeps in his luxury box and if his booster chair is monogrammed.
And while she's at it, have her check TB12 's locker for Rogaine and Just for Men. I have a sneaky suspicion there's some farming going on.
