Thinking about it today... most of the games I hearken back to for the Pats are from the Brady-era postseason. (embarrassment of riches :) ) Started to try and recount the most memorable regular season games.

I'm thinking there are two categories (maybe more)...

1. Well-contested, for which I vote...

(honorable mention: 2003 snow game against the Fins, won 12-0... I might be biased because I was there and had a BLAST!)

2. And blow-out... for which I vote...

I can't get enough of that. Especially since I watched the game with my Jets fan inlaws... and one of my BIL's immediately called it a butt fumble. :)

So I asked my son.

Most memorable because of the great win but also because of the big loss.

(IOW, he remembers the game because his favorite player went out with an injury)

I was at 2 of this era's epic games, so I would go with them.

Bengals (we're on to Cincinatti)

Broncos (down 24-0 at the half comeback)

Patriots vs Saints, 2013. It was my first time seeing them win live after 3 previous losses. I've been dealing with a sick parent for a few years at that point and the win felt like the first time feeling something positive happened in my life in a long time.

I still get chills watching the in stadium YouTube videos of Thompkins catch...

September 30th, 2001, Brady's first ever start. A guy I worked with was offered tickets to that game before the season started and asked me if I'd go in on them with him. I did. Historical game, 1st Patriots victory I ever saw live (were 0 for 5 before that). Patriots and Brady blew out Manning and the heavily favored Colts. I still have the ticket stub.

My 1st game at Foxborough as a Pat’s fan, I think it was Sept 9th 1979, I was 16 years old, a native NYer so I had never been to Foxborough. They were playing the Jets, and they won 56-3. Holy Schnickes ! It was insane, just seem to score a TD on every drive, and Jets only got a FG. Never saw a game like that in my life (live). And the kicker was, my poor parents are Jet’s fans lol. The worst game they ever were at.

I believe they beat Tennessee by the same score in 2008 with Brady throwing FIVE 1st quarter (or 2nd quarter ? ) TD passes, which of course is a record. I saw that on TV.

Another game I loved was a game I attended. While up in Boston, my Mom surprised me with tickets for my 50th birthday in October 2012 against the Broncos. It was great seeing the Pats beat the Broncos AND Peyton Manning at Gillette.

I have TOO many other regular season favorites to mention.

2009, 59-0, 5 2nd quarter TD's.

Love that game too!

Like Scott99 above, I too am going pre-Brady, pre-Belichick Old School:

Well-Contested:
26 Sept 1976, Pats win 30-27 at Pittsburg, the home of the Steel Curtain, Bradshaw, Franco's Italian Army, Swann & Stallworth, the Terrible Towels and the defending Supah Bowl Champeens! Are you kidding me?

Blowout:
One week later, Pats return home to demolish Oakland (aka the best team in football) 48-17.

Those 2 wins proved to this high school junior that these Spirited Patriots of '76 were indeed different, and no longer an almost decade-long laughingstock.

59-0 vs the Titans in 2009 was the most fun I've had watching a Pats regular season game. Just a whole bunch of TDs.

And a lot of this too. You could tell that day the Titans were ready to leave as soon as they came in the stadium.

I remember that game. The network station I was watching it on switched over to another game (can't blame 'em). So I switched over to the DirecTV Sunday Ticket feed. But that feed was blacked out because DirecTV "thought" the game was on my local affiliate. So I missed out on some of the fun.

I was pretty pissed.

I feel I must mention my 1st game.

Christmas Eve, 1989 vs LA Rams!

The wind chill was negative something. Those metal bleachers were colder than a polar bear's sphincter. A soon to be 5-11 Pats team came back to take a 20-17 lead, only to have Jim Everett lead the Rams down to a last minute TD for the win.

It was a great game in a rather unforgettable season.

Plus, how many times do you get to watch a QB playing with a neckroll? I will always love Steve Grogan!!
