You can acknowledge it, just keep it in perspective. and that is that it's no big deal, every team does it. No need to panick or turn on the best coach in the history of the NFL. Remember, it's a new rule that just started this year!

That's my point here Patriots Reign. I appreciate your posts and insight. I am really p.o.'ed and hurt by seeing our team, coach, and reputation being dragged through the mud all day today. I am a realistic fan. I see the good, and the bad with this team, and have been a fan since I was about 7 I would guess. I am hardly a bandwagoner, but when Monty Beisel was here playing "turnstile" for us at LB.....I voiced my opinion that I thought he was playing horribly and killing our defense. Alot of people who are what I call rose colored glass wearers...came out saying I wasn't a true fan......traitor etc.........Kind of annoying.....but that is the way things are in everything.....realists vs idealists.......

Anyways...I am not turning on BB in the least.....but if it comes back with a "guilty verdict"....I will be VERY disappointed in his judgement on this incident.......thanks........GO PATS!!!!

I am so sickened by the number of fellow fans that have shot their mouths off against Belichick & the Patriots organization it's just making me nauseous. Many of you who are quesioning your own team and even worse the very coach who has made the Patriots a dynasty should be considered Traitors!

To those of you who are now even questioning the players we have signed that have questionable character, I question YOUR character! We've NEVER signed a player who didn't deserve an opportunity to play for the Patriots. I believe the character of the every single player on our team is among the best in the league. After all, we're not looking for a team of humanitarians, we're looking for a team of CHAMPIONS.

Keep up all your negativity and Belichick might just feel he isn't wanted in New England. And guess what folks? If Belichick ever left the Patriots, ever team in the league would be scrambling to sign him.

There's nothing to be "proud" of here. Best case scenario is that this Estrella character had no real contact with coaches or coordinators during the game which means they weren't cheating, but should also get clued in as to what some of their employees are doing.

At the same time, what is going to happen here that will effect the team's on-field performance this year? Short of Belichick himself being suspended, there's no sanction that is going to hurt the team this year as much as Harrison being out for four games and Seymour being out for six (or more).

Losing draft picks could hurt them next year, but worry about that in April.

I don't post much, but have been reading these boards for 5 years now. I have to say, the last year and a half, some of the posts on this board have been utter crap. There are a ton of hypocrites (not everyone, but a growing amount) on this board, who are never happy, and always look at the glass half empty.

If we're favored, people are mad that that a "negative" comment was still made, or we're not favored by enough, and we can't play the no respect card. If we're not favored or get any criticism, everyone hates the patriots and we get no respect.

When Merriman get suspended last year, people want to throw him in the dirt and call him a cheater, and that he should be out of the league. When Rodney violates the SAME rule, we look for excuses, and start talking about how HGH should be allowed for medicinal purposes.

People make a big deal over one game, when we should all remember how we went 14-2 to win a superbowl, after getting trounced a few years ago to the Bills. The chargers didn't look good against the bears, so count them out. 49ers didn't looks good, so they're a bad team and we're getting a top 10 pick. Yet, we're world beaters because of one game.

And this whole stupid video thing. If the pats are actually guilty of this, then it's just a stupid move, that is unncessary. Does it make me love the pats any less, hell no. But if their guilty, then it's a dumb move, and they should know better. If any other team did this, we would start tainting their record, rather than saying, "oh yeah, I actually like that they're cheating and trying to get an edge."

People (as I stated, not all posters, but a growing amount) need to calm down on this board, and just enjoy the fact that we may win our 4th superbowl this year, and are very lucky, rather than jumping down each others' throats, and constantly looking for validation. It wasn't too long ago that we were a mediocre team. Sorry for the rant, but I read this board everyday, and the quality of posts have just gone way down since I started reading (which was basically when Milloy got released).

Post of the year. I guess the Patriots do make mistakes.

It will be hard for those who believe that Belichick does no wrong to attack on moral grounds in the future.

I can't figure out why people like you insist upon exaggerating this incident. All teams cheat & spy in many different ways. This isn't the end of ANYTHING my friend.

No one committed any crime and no one's going to jail. Why hasn't anyone made an issue out of the fact Mangini made the Pat's wear their home blues so they'd sweat it out in the heat more than if they wore their away "Whites"? Isn't that cheating? c'mon, this isn't a big deal. Nothing huge will come of this and it will be forgotten once the season heats up.

Why would one think you are an idiot? Possibly, because you are so quick to criticize those who are keeping an open mind and questioning what transpired on Sunday? It's blatant homerism, much like the crap I have to endure on Jets Insider. You sound as ignorant as the asses who defended booing Pennington because they felt it improved the team's chances of succeeding. Cheating is cheating, and my personal opinion is the Patriots are so damn good they don't need to stoop to that level! If there are other teams, including my Jets, caught cheating: I'll be just as disgusted with them.

My Theory

Let's look at the example of a highly intellegent kid who's taking a big exam & gets caught looking at someone's answers...cheating. He's embaressed and knows he probably didn't need to cheat, but now people are starting to question if he has cheated his way to this point. People are making jokes about him and gossip abounds.

What would happen in such a case?

He'd probably say to himself, "damn, all my friends have cheated at one point or another. Now they're all turning on me!" ...SCREW THEM!

I think this kid would kick ass the rest of the year to prove everyone wrong. That he really is the best.

Maybe a tad goofy, but maybe not far from reality.

My point is this just isn't a big deal no matter how big some people try to make it. It can't be compared to the low-life cheering of Pennington since one was perpetrated by 70,000 fans and the other by Patriots management.
