2017 . Trade Deadline . thread

I would rather Blount than Gilislee at the moment expecially in the red zone and on the goal line.

How would Blount make the blocking any better ? Gillislee is the better player behind a worse OL.

If you would say you would prefer him for his locker room presence and whatnot I might agree but the on field performance would be a downgrade especially because he is totally inept at pass blocking and limits the playbook every time he appears on the field.

Well until he gets cut, he's not available. And hell no to trading for someone who was on our roster last year, a free agent months ago, and with us sitting on 4 healthy RBs.

Been having the same conversation with those clowns now for 2 months. Good luck with it..

yep . the oh so familiar lose-lose situation

1. Allen has no rec. - sucks, trade him
2. Allen has x rec for x yrds - they should target Gronk etc. more

__

& who cares what else he does on the field . its not like he's making other's job easier..

Hmmm didn't the Patriots just win a Super Bowl with that RB who can't block?

performance??

Blount last year in 1st 8 games
Att 161
Yds 609
Td 9

Gilislee this year 1st 8 games
Att 98
Yds 355
Tds 4 (3 in 1st game)

Blount scored 18 touchdowns last year and Gilislee won't even sniff anywhere close than that.

Gileslee isn't even being used on passing downs as White and Lewis are being used there, so the Gilislee is a better blocker argument doesn't have much to back it up.

Because everything about the running game so far is totally equal to last season.

Can you honestly try to pretend the OL is playing as well as they were last season?

If Landry was just on any other team besides a division rival. He’s the best possible transition from Brown - Welker - Edelman/Amendola.

Just a reminder, Blount didn't have Lewis on the Roster for those 1st 8 games. Lewis only played in the last 7 games last year.

The team also didn't have Burkhead. Lewis and Burkhead have both taken touches from Gillislee. (Lewis-58, Burkhead - 15).

The team also isn't running the ball as much this year as they did last year.

Also, the O-line was fairly healthy last year. This year, Cannon has had an ankle injury since week 1. He missed about half the reps in the last game.

So, the basis for your counter-argument is flawed at best..

No the OL is playing like crap. Play calling at times has been horrible. They miss Bennetts blocking Etc..

However With the struggles right now in the red zone and goaline IMO Blount is better than Gilislee.

Allen has been as good a blocker as Bennett was..

The problem with your opinion is that you disregard key items and try to lump everything into a Blount > Gillislee scenario and it just doesn't hold up under scrutiny.

We are actually tied for 10th in the NFL with Buffalo and Tennessee in rushing yards. So not a HORRIBLE running game at this point.

Come on bill! Get us a pass rusher.

Yes, because a pass rusher is going to help the Patriots stop the run..

The Pats need someone who will allow them to keep Flowers on the outside instead of bringing him inside on passing downs.

So The Bengals just traded Geno Atkins to the Patriots for Alan Branch and a third round pick!

Flowers does a nice job on the inside. Not sure I want to take him totally out of that role as an inside rusher (unless they have someone better)

They tried Wise there last weekend and he didn't seem to do a heck of a lot.

You are up there with Pats1989

Adam Gase: "So remember guys, if you complain and are a bad locker room presence, we will trade you to a much better team as punishment. Let that be a lesson to you!"
