Brady can only do so much, the defense has been horrible against mobile qbs, but some members have been saying mobile qbs haven’t been a problem. The containment against newton has been terrible.

Everyone will be on the cam bandwagon after facing our defense.

Yeah, sports are weird. I think they'll get this turned around, but as of now it's a sign once again that winning the off-season isn't the goal.

Our secondary was terrific last year, very, very few big plays allowed, great chemistry and communication and a clear hierarchy in Butler #1 Ryan #2. We had the best statistical defense and we won the Super Bowl.

And then we go out and buy an incredibly inconstant CB, a player that has never been even close to an All Pro , coming of his most disappointing season for 65 million, with 40 million guaranteed.

All the while alluding to the guy that was the #1 corner for two straight years, who improved every successive season and who had a vastly superior season to Gilmore's that he's not the number 1 corner anymore and he's not getting paid by us as such.

Here we are now, Gilmore is who he was in Buffalo, Butler's relationship with the team is damaged, probably beyond repair, and our secondary is dire.

Terrible miscalculation on every level.

I sadly live in NC. Will be on a media black out this week. I’m sure the Carolina bandwagon will be filling up again. It was pretty empty last year.

The defense is a dumpster fire. I hope they can get it figured out.

This falls on belichick. He signed off on bringing guys like Gilmore in and ignoring the LB position.

Agreed, and losing Sheard, Long & Ninkovich was HUGE. Loss of talent, leadership and chemistry. I’d even say losing Blount and Bennett hurt this team’s chemistry. We really have no running game, and Dwayne Allen can’t catch a cold, or learn this offense.

For many years, DMac has been a solid contributor and leader. Let's see if the secondary turns it around. And let's not pretend DMac is the reason for the two losses this season.

So we can talk about the defensive problems. Are we allowed to talk about how Brady missed some throws? Or should we only talk about the successful offensive plays?

Talk about what you please. I highly doubt many people read your posts anyway. Since you're relatively new, I'll inform you that I've been one of the most critical people on this board of this team in the past. I don't care about pointing out that Brady missed throws or the defense couldn't stop a JV high school team. What I don't care for are prognostications that the season is over and Brady sucks suddenly. Post your analysis. I'll be happy to debate you on it if I disagree with anything.

I told everyone during pre season that Gilmore is trash, I remember last season when he gave up on the play that Hogan burnt him on and started pointing fingers while Hogan wasn't in the endzone yet. Dude is straight garbo. Patriots should have won this game easily, refs completely held them back on offense 4 different times with stupid OPI and Holding penalties not even including the defense. Funny how Patriots get robbed by the same team when Gronk was held in the endzone.

You certainly appear to be right thus far. He's sucked a fat one through four weeks. But a lot of his problems have centered on being out of position here. Hopefully he improves as he learns but he certainly hasn't earned his paychecks yet.

It’s not like it’s week 1 and they are rookies. No excuse for the constant miscommunications in the defense.

Except that they're new to it and this is the hardest defense in the entire world to learn.
