Multiple teams have expressed interest in trading for Dion Lewis

If it can help fill a position of desperate need, trade him.

Lewis is more valuable as a receiver than anything that we could get for him.

Does that remain the case once Mitchell and Amendola return?

There was some blown coverage that the Chiefs exploited, and as the season goes by,
I expect our secondary to improve. But our linebacker corps behind Hightower is too slow to cover speedy WRs and RBs in space. And Hightower himself sustains many injuries and will likely miss games.

I LOVE Dion Lewis, but I'd be willing to trade him and take a risk on Foster, in exchange for someone to step in and help us anchor the defensive front.

At the same time.... Burkhead doesn't (yet) seem able to separate or make his cuts on routes to elude defenders.

I'm not sure if Foster can provide the same elusiveness that Lewis does. Didn't really watch him in the preseason. Can anyone explain what Foster brings as a receiving threat???

The talent at RB is deep - to the point where even someone on the practice squad like DJ Foster could step in and return kickoffs, and help the offense as a runner and receiving threats.

I could see why the Patriots might field some offers, but it would need to be for a player who can contribute right away, most likely a linebacker or DE.
It wasn't long ago the talent at WR was deep, also. Now, it's very thin. I say keep him.

Is signing Aikeem Ayers and Ninkovich enough of an upgrade?

There's still Shea McClelli. My knowledge of the DTR tag for those on IR isn't sharp. Will the team be able to take McLellin AND Mitchell off Injured Reserve? Or are they limited to one player only?

I would prefer to trade him for a player don't think a low round draft pick does anything to help you, any average linebacker who isn't painfully slow will do doesn't even have to be good, just not awful and definitely not slow.

If you look at the team without Edelman, Mitchell and possibly Amendola they have more of a need for WR White and Lewis together than what they could get for Lewis, which I doubt is much.

Well they gotta know if Mitchell will be 100 percent when he goes back. We gotta hope that Dorsett will contribute in some way. Hogan pretty much was locked down. 1 catch. Cooks will be ok.

My point was, if our WR corps is a little cranky for a while we can move the ball with Lewis and White in there together. Better than adding another unknown WR to a corps that includes all but one in Hogan. Chemistry counts.

1) We need Lewis NOW. It is irrelevant that we might be OK in 8 games when Mitchell might be back and Danny might be healthy. Lewis may be more valuable to the patriots than to any other team in the NFL. Lewis might not be valuable for months on a new team.

2) You overvalue Lewis. NO TEAM is going to give us a player for Lewis who help us anchor our defense", that is unless you throw in a 1st or 2nd round draft choice. Is that what you have in mind?

BOTTOM LINE
At most, Lewis is worth a 4th rounder in trade value. he's worth more than that to us.

Cooks and Dorsett once he is 100% on the playbook will be great......Not as concerned about the O as this sieve they call their D.....

Love Deion, but if some team was foolish enough to trade us someone such as a quality DE/OLB or coverage LB, I'd do it. It would make our team stronger in a needed area. NFW would I trade him for a draft pick.
Ain't gonna happen.

We should definitely do it....it's obviously a rebuilding year.,....

He only played 6 snaps against the chiefs. We are stacked at rb and have foster on the ps. Would you trade him for picks and a player from a position of need?

The browns might be dumb enough. Maybe we can get a guy like Ogbah

You can trade for a pick if you know that the pick can immediately be traded for player x. There is no use in stockpiling picks, but sometimes you need a 3-way deal to get the player you need.

Regardless. I dont think you trade someone who has proven to be excellent in our system.

Yes trade Lewis who is injury prone.
Trade for a player who can help now, not a draft pick. Need a linebacker or defensive end ASAP.
