Pats trade Jacoby Brissett to the Colts for Phillip Dorsett

Hope Dorsett picks up enough of the scheme and gets on the same page as Brady to help in the playoffs.

What did poor JB do to deserve being sent to an Idiot like Irsay?

Wait. What?

Pats picked Brown in that spot because it was an absolute need, Wilfork was gone. Safety wasn't a need as McCourty and Chung was a Safety combo and Harmon had emerged as a solid #3 and now that trio has won 2 SBs.

Terrible take.
I was going to comment on it as well. Brown is very solid. Collins came out of college a FS and we already had an elite Safety in Dmac. Why draft him?

We had the best D in the league last year.

Count how many years they have carried a third quarterback. They needed three last year due to the unique circumstances of Goodellgate.
It's a valuable roster spot.
Oh, absolutely. I agree that it's always smart to carry just 2 QBs if they can get away with it. But Jimmy being a FA next year just made it seem unlikely to me. Guess they could franchise Jimmy next year and carry a rookie, but that's freakin' expensive. Or they could sign a veteran, I suppose. Could see a guy like Hoyer return if he's still kicking around FA this time next year, perhaps.

Carr and Lucien will probably both be cut, and claimed by other NFL teams. Both are too good to make it through to the practice squad.

Don't know about that. There is a glut of WR talent available, it seems. Many quality WRs being dangled available for trade. Some will inevitably be cut and fill the needs of WR-needy teams.

Wait, what the f***? Beyond the trade itself, this means the team has no third QB and their second string QB is a free agent next year. If Jimmy is gone then who the hell backs up TB12? Makes me think that they are either planning on extending him somehow.
They almost always have only had 2 QBs.

F*cking BB! At least get a draft pick with it too! Brissett for TY would have been a fair trade. Now I'm doubly disappointed Cyrus tore his knee.

You honestly think brissett for Hilton is a fair trade?

You could do a lot worse for a 5th WR and he has big upside. With White, Lewis and that Gronk guy he could be doing his job and be the 7th to 8th receiver.

I just hope they don't give him jersey number 17.
Sadly, I think he will get #84 (Carr's #). Wore #4 in college I believe. #17 should be retired.

Did any of you draft junkies have Dorsett ranked highly or was Grigson just being terrible?
